I searched and searched in the galleries for a picture of a cake sort of like this. I swear I saw this idea here but couldn't find it again. The butterfly was much prettier though. Aubree likes ballerinas so I tried to give our butterfly dancer slippers.
Zane wanted dump trucks for his Birthday. We got the idea from this site so thank you! The dirt is graham cracker crumbs and crushed oreos.
Seven Minute Frosting
Chocolate cake with seven-minute frosting for my sister-in-law. She requested this and it was kind of nice not to have to worry about smoothing it! Gumpaste bow and butterfly. Royal roses.
White Cornelli Lace
4-layer white birthday cake with french vanilla buttercream. I know I use cornelli lace a lot. It seems to be a good thing to do when the person doesn't know what they want and want to keep it simple. Royal icing roses. Fondant ribbon.
Over The Hill
The customer wanted an "Over the Hill" or "Older than Dirt" cake for her father-in-law. I just combined the two. I also made an over the hill "spring chicken" and and an "old goat".
Miss/little Miss Pageant Cake
This is a full sheet cake for good luck for a Miss/Little Miss Pageant. The two tiaras are royal icing and so are the roses. The peanuts are candy melts painted with luster dust. The reason for the peanuts is because it's the National Peanut Festival Pageant. The cake is vanilla buttercream torted (never again will I try to torte 12 x 18-inch cakes.
Red velvet cake with vanilla buttercream. Gunpaste flowers, fondant pearls, satin bow.
Wilton 3-tiered stand. This one holds up so much better than the styrofoam one! The 10-inch cake is french vanilla with bavarian filling. The 8-inch ones are coconut and almond cream cheese pound cake. The small flowers are fondant punches brushed with luster dust and the toppers are gumpaste. I saw a smilar design on a tiered wedding cake on this site but I can't remember who did it. It was lovely and I appreciate the idea.
Charlie And Chocolate Factory
Chocolate river and bridge. Thanks to everyone in the forum who helped me with this idea.
Chocolate cake torted to make four layers each tier. The dinosaurs are toys. Piping gel for the water fall. Candy rocks from sugarcraft.
Customer asked for a very simple birthday cake pertaining to baseball for her 16-year-old son and nothing too juvenile or girly. Thanks to cakes by mari..I used her thick grass idea and made a fondant baseball to sit in it.
Vanilla cake with chocolate glove. Chocolate dipped cherries and candies. Thank you sammnettles for the idea.
All Stars Cake
This cake was done for an All-Stars baseball team. Their budget was $40.00 but the cake ended up being huge and heavy. The stars are fondant. The ribbons and medals are edible images of their real ones. The photo is edible of course and I wrote their names on the stars with a food writer. The colors of the team are red, white and blue so they wanted stick with all shades of that.
Chocolate With Pink Lace And Bow
This was a very last minute cake so I tried to dye the Wilton bow and it was very patchy in spots. I had to brush it with luster dust and add flowers. The cake is chocolate, torted into 4 layers with chocolate buttercream.
Scrolls On Chocolate Buttercream
Sour cream white cake with vanilla buttercream filling and chocolate buttercream icing. Gumpaste flowers, buttercream scrolls.
Just an 8 and 10-inch round. Paper towel turrets. Buttercream cake and fondant towers. Mini bundt princess. Thanks to Boween for the inspiration photo.
Baby And Footprints
A combination of ideas from this site. For some reason I just couldn't quit on this cake...I just kept wanting to add things.
