Christening Cake For Ryan
This lady wanted a plain cake with simple 'wooden' block lettering decorations and 'woollen' booties. I added the little teddy because I thought the first tier looked a little empty. I opted for real ribbon in the booties as icing ones snap easily which is not ideal if she wanted to keep them. Chocolate fudge cake and victoria sponge. All decorations made with home made sugarpaste.

Allotment Cake For Bob
This cake was the second of two people who share the same allotment. Flour free 12? square chocolate cake and same recipe for the shed which was made using a 7? square tin. Cake was then cut and stacked to create the shed. Bob is keen on walking, cycling and Rusty Nail! the grandchildren were done in an almight hurry (don?t look closely aargh!) and I did not have time to do his three children. Shame about that. I was working from a photograph of his shed and the rest is random design. A rush (as usual!) to get this done and so did not take any quality photos. This had to travel quite a way and luckily everything stayed intact!

Allotment Cake For Clare
After an 8-week break from cakes I made two allotment themed cakes. This one is for a lady in the village who spends her life planning Village Fetes! On this one I worked from photos of her shed, purple wheelbarrow and green watering can. The rest is random design. Base cake is flour free 10? square chocolate cake and the shed is lemon drizzle cake (2lb loaf tin, cut in half and stacked). Both cakes are covered in chocolate ganache before adding the fondant. The hours worked on this cake was 12 hours from weighing out the cake ingredients to putting it in the car. I didn?t get time to make the hedgerow so the fence looks a bit ?unhinged? but hey, that?s artistic licence yes? :0)

Ivory Stacked Wedding Cake With Piped Design
The bride supplied fresh flowers for this cake. As yet I do not have a clear photo of the cake with the flowers without the bride and groom pictured - the last picture here is one with them edited out of the frame and very blurred! The bottom tier is a 12" Dark Chocolate Mud cake, the middle a 9" Victoria Sandwich (triple layered) and the top tier a 6" Chocolate Fudge Cake. Additional photos show the cakes before the fondant was added. The fourth cake in the second last picture is a fruit cake which the mother of the bride made and asked me to decorate to match the others. The piped design was based on one by Peggy Porschen which the bride requested that I do. I had not done this kind of thing before so was very apprehensive! This had to travel for nearly 3 hours in very hot and humid conditions, so forward planning was essential!

Easter Bonnet With Cold Porcelain Daffodils
Chocolate Mud Cake as a thank you present for our sponsors who do the printing for our annual charity fun run and cycle. This is my first hat cake. The duck family are made with marzipan and the flowers from cold porcelain, using the same technique as sugarpaste flowers. The Greeting label is made with sugarpaste.

Old Bag Co. Cake For Emma's St Patricks Day 21St Birthday
Fruit cake covered with royal icing and the outer bag material made with Emma's favourite marzipan. All decorations (except the chocolate money) are made from marzipan and are typically the bits and bobs she has in her bag, including the Saints Football Teddy! his was my first attempt at a handbag and I was working from photographs of her actual bag which had shorter dimensions but didn't matter!

Three Legged Race Round The Isle O' Man
Boozy fruit cake for a gentleman's 80th. The Isle of Man is his favourite place and the figure is made in his likeness .... sort of!! the 'Three Leg' decorations are made with Royal Icing. All other decorations, including the golf balls for the candles are made with home-made Sugarpaste. I use a recipe by Alan Dunn.

Pumpkin Cake
Victoria sponge cake for raffling at our village event to raise money for MacMillan Cancer Care - November 2011. The outer decorations are sugarpaste and this was my first attempt at hand-painting a board. I am no good at painting and have never attended art classes, so excuse the very amateur look! :0) The stub is made to look like a witch's hat, to add to the fun of it all. Everything edible.

Gothic Castle Cake With Dragon And Gargoyles
Fruit Cake Castle and Chocolate Mud Cake Turrets and top Tiers. All decorations made with sugarpaste. I made the castle and Dragon and my friend Ann made the Gargoyles. It was her first effort with no instruction. I used Royal Icing to create the stone wall. This was a joint celebration cake for our husbands March 2012
