Baby Shower Cake
This cake was for a baby boy's shower. Thanks to Nati's Cakes for the original design! I hope I did it justice. I made the topper out of gumpaste to match the napkins and party decorations. It was a great deal of fun, and probably my most flawless cake ever, if there is such a thing!!

Birthday Cake
Birthday Cake for a sweet young lady who loves strawberries. Strawberry cake with strawberry puree in between two layers and citrus flavored IMBC and fresh strawberries in the center. Very fun cake to make. Had no idea what I was going to do (colors or design) until I actually started working on it.

Community College 50Th Anniversary
Local community college's 50th anniversary celebration cake. They wanted a showpiece type of cake with gold and some green accents. Four layer cream cake with rasberry IMBC and rasberry fruit fillings. 6, 9, 12 and 15" tiers. All decorations were handmade from fondant and gumpaste. I really enjoyed making these cakes (I made additional cake for the catering staff to cut in the kitchen).

Turntable Birthday Cake
Copied the design of the actual turntable the birthday person was getting as a gift. Everyone, especially the recipient, absolutely loved it. White cream cake with whipped cream and fresh strawberry filling. Fondant and gumpaste designs. Icing image in the center. I really enjoyed making this cake and was most pleased with the outcome.

Tiffany Box Cakes
Rush job - decorated in an hour (including bow!) for ;ast minute birthday party. Almonds have little white bows. Didn't care for the look of the almonds on the cake board. Also, I thought the bow should be flatter, but there was no time to redo. White cream cake with IMBC filling and vanilla fondant.

Farewell Cake
This cake was ordered by a catering company that I bake for so I never met the client. I was told was that it had to be Asian themed and that the physician was from Taiwan (originally I was told Vietnam). Symbol is the Chinese symbol for good luck. Chocolate cake with chocolate hazelnut IMBC and covered in fondant. Gumpaste and fondant details. Not my favorite cake, but not bad considering I had just over 24 hour notice and the old 'noggin' wasn't feeling very creative.

Ladybug Cake
Ladybug cake for a little girl's 2nd birthday. Her mom is part of a group called 'The Ladybug Club', hence the sign. Each tier is made up of one chocolate layer and another white chocolate berry, with fresh sliced strawberries and whipped cream in the center, with buttercream icing. All decorations made of fondant and gumpaste. Used cutters for the flowers, but everything else was made by freehand.

Small Gift For A Friend
This is a 5" round I made for a friend's wedding anniversary. It's a WASC cake with vanilla IMBC and fresh strawberries in the middle and home made strawberry filling between the torted layers. Fondant band, gumpaste rose and bow made 20 minutes before delivering it! Didn't even have time to put a bow around the cake board.

Gift Box Cake
This was my first gift box cake and first gumpaste roses that I made for a friend's birthday. I was so busy this weekend, that I forgot to cut down the lid and left it way too big for the box. I didn't even notice it until I assembled the cake. Ooops! Amaretto cake with vanilla IMBC and fondant.

Challenging Myself
I was watching Ron Ben Isreal on Sugar Rush a few weeks ago and decided to challenge myself by making a dummy cake with his same design. Following my belief that I have to challenge myself (since I am a beginner) with difficult projects, I decided to give it a try. VERY labor intensive. I used Satin Ice chocolate fondant, made the appliques by rolling lace and fondant/gumpaste together through pasta machine, then outlining in royal icing. The ribbons were a nightmare - solid bands all around.

Work In Progress
This is a work in progress photo. Still have a long way to go before finishing. I fell in love with one of Kerry Vincent's wedding cakes from her book 'Romantic Wedding Cakes' (page 53). I decided to make it just for fun. This is the middle tier. I made the cake last weekend - carved, iced and covered in fondant, then froze it so I could work on it when I have more time. Today, I started adding more of the details. What fun! Almond white cake with rasberry IMBC and white Satin Ice fondant.
