Surprise Cake
A dear friend of mine, her only request was to have me make a cake for her, I gave her a store bought carrot cake, then the next ay surprised her with this while at our favorite fishing lodge. My first fish.... A trout, after many hours of research this is what I ended up with. The trout is rice crispy cookie covered in a 50/50 gumpast-fondant mix. Sea weed, flower, butterfly, and water is hard candy, river rocks are chocolate. Cake is chocolate with a raspberry filling, iced with buttercream. tfl

Wine Barrel Cake
This cake was done the the Kansas City Ultimate Cake challenge fund Raiser for, "New House". Every thing on it was edible except the stems holding the grapes and leaves together and the foil wrapped around tops of each bottle. The bottles are hollow hard candy, grapes, and ice, glass slipper. Gumpase, leaves, flowers. Royal icing wheat. Edible glitter, Boards are melted chocolate, white and mint. The labels are gum-paste. The cake is three layers, each being a double with a filling. Had a blast as I demoed the bottles. tfl

Basket Full Of Wine
These are edible sugar bottles (so much fun to make-my first time), label's are rice paper, and the lids are painted silver and dipped in the edible glitter, ice is sugar, every thing else is gum-paste or fondant. Chocolate cake is iced with butter cream and wrapped in fondant. I took a class in Olathe, Kansas and the demo was how to make the bottles. TFL

Brushed Embroidery
This is my first attempt at "BE", the cakes I have seen look beautiful, I learned from my mistakes as you can see, but this was fun and needs to be done in layers and let them air dry between. Using the BC, when air dry the other colors bleed through, next time I will us RI and not babysitting three 1 year olds. Two eight inch and one ten inch Chocolate cakes with buttercream icing.
