Chocolate Lego Plane
I made this Lego plane using white molding chocolate which I coloured with chocolate powders. I have attached a few photos of the brick mold I used and here are the steps I used to make this plane. 1. I made all the chocolate blocks required as per a set of Lego building instructions. If a piece was not going to be seen such as the base pieces I just rolled out a piece of chocolate dough to a Lego block thickness and then cut the piece to the size I needed by using real Lego blocks as size guides. The pieces that were different in shape.....that means I didn't have a mold I just adapted a piece to suit the plane structure. For the thin/ flat pieces of Lego.....as I didn't have this mold I used my mold but weighed dough at 2 grams and pressed it evenly into the mold. when i made the blocks i used a real Lego piece and pressed it into the bottom of the block.......this really helps when building the plane. 2. I then built the plane in stages. I support the wings with toothpicks and glued the structure together with pasteurised egg white. The plane took about three days to build as it really need to dry before the weight of the wings are placed on top. Anyway it was fun and maybe next time it will be bigger and better!!
