This is a LOTR themed cake with Fondant figurines. This was a quick request from a friend while I was visiting out of town, so the whole thing was done with what I had available in the kitchen of where I was staying. The cake is sitting on a map of Middle Earth which I made from fondant that I "antiqued" with gel color, and then drew the map onto freehand with edible markers I picked up at the local supermarket. Unfortunately I didn't have my good camera with me, so a cell phone picture was all I got. This was my first time to try making figurines from fondant...

German Chocolate cake with coconut pecan filling, iced in ganache and covered in fondant. First and third tiers are covered with white chocolate cigarellos, second tier has fondant lace with a ribbon, bottom tier is decorated in fondant ruffles. The three spacers are covered with fondant lace and surrounded by royal icing roses, per bride's request. The topper is made of gumpaste flowers. The Bride requested all decorations be white and very very busy with flowers, lace, cigarellos, etc. I think it turned out very nicely!

I made this wedding cake for a friend of mine this past week. She wanted the entire cake to be white and very "busy" with lace, flowers and white chocolate cigarellos. The topper I made with gumpaste roses and orchids and brushed with a pearl luster dust.

I made this cake for my best friend's birthday. One of our favorite things to do together is to go eat sushi, so for her birthday I decided to make her a sushi themed cake complete with candy sushi pieces. We had her party at our favorite Japanese restaurant and the cake was a bit hit!
