Spherical xmas pudding cake with suspended jug of custard
This was made out of 4 6 inch sponge cakes covered with white chocolate ganache.It featured real working flashing light with tardis sounds which were activated by the push button concealed in a rice krispie treat rock. The wires for the lights and sounds ran through a hollow tube which ran through the centre of the cake. The cake was made 2 and a half years ago and still hasn't been cut!!
The table legs are rice krispie treats and the table top madeira sponge. Everything on the table is edible and modelled out of a mixture of gumpaste and fondant.
This rather weird looking cake is the mascot for a member of the Korean boy band BAP. The body of the cake is made from chocolate baileys mud cake and the head carved Styrofoam. My tallest cake to date over 2ft tall!
3 tier wedding cake with handmade sugar claret and ivory roses. Styrofoam separators support each cake. I cannot take total credit for this design however as the bride knew exactly what she wanted and I did my best to follow through.
The hat is a Madeira sponge covered with white chocolate ganache and filled with raspberry conserve and vanilla cream. The hay bale is made out of the same cake.Other decorations are made out of modelling paste.
The bride was from Eritrea and the Groom from Jamaica.Their children were born in the UK hence the flags.
This is not the finished version it will be completed at the venue. I still have to add some sauce spilling out of the bottle and add some matches to the board. The bottle is made out of rice Krispie treats and the can polystyrene.The coals are airbrushed marshmallows an the grills painted wooden dowels. Everything else is edible.
I made this cake for my Grandmother's funeral reception which more or less resembled a wedding reception hence the stacked cake. I made it in the space of a week whilst arranging the funeral so it was quite a rushed job and I was a little stressed at the time, however I am happy with how it turned out and most importantly I am sure my Gran was smiling down in approval-she never did anything by halves so I am sure would have liked all the pomp and cicumstance and having a big cake to celebrate her life and passing :) The bottom tier was rich rum fruit cake and the 2nd and top tiers vanilla sponge with white choclate ganache and raspberry conserve and the 3rd tier was chocolate mud cake and dark chocolate ganache.
This cake was made for a Macmillan Coffee Morning and raised over £130!
This cake was made in incredibly short notice, it was requested late Tuesday evening and I had a full days work the next day and it had to be ready for 2 o'clock Thursday eeek!!!!!!! I didn't really have a solid idea as to what I was going to do and made it up as I went along. I am pretty pleased considering the time constraints. And at least I can say that I have made a cake for someone with a knighthood oohh!!!!
