Mickey Loves Minnie
A double sided giant cupcake for Ryan & Ashley's 5th wedding anniversary. They love everything Disney, and asked for a special message from Disneyland to be written on the board... 'and they lived happily ever after,' along with the date of their wedding. From the right angle, the hands have a heart shape in the middle. The bottom of the cake was made with candy melts in the Wilton giant cupcake mold, the top was baked in half of the Wilton ball pan.

This was my first cake for Icing Smiles, a charity that provides cakes for very sick children and their families. It was for Gabby, a 12 year old girl with a brain tumor. She loves Hello Kitty and Mickey Mouse and asked for something funny and colorful. I have free tutorials for both Hello Kitty and the ice cream ‘accident’ on my Facebook Page, in my Notes. I used a fabulous tutorial for the giant cupcake by Tea Party Cakes, which you can find in her Facebook shop. The cake is based on the style of Andrea's Sweetcakes – thank you, AndreaMy friend Kate from Kendon's Candies gave me a bag full of lollipops to use on the cake. Thank you, Kate! Thanks finally to Gabriela from Moybella Cakes for creating a popcorn tutorial just for me. :-)

A Valentine's Day owl made in the Wilton Wonder Mold. For those of you not familiar with this mold, it's a bell-shaped pan, similar, I'm told, to the Dolly Varden pan, Crinolin Lady or Tiffin tin. I have a tutorial for him on my Facebook Page that comes with five different banners to print out and alternative colour schemes for birthdays and baby showers. Owls definitely seem to be the 'in-thing' right now! I hope you like him!

A castle cake for Alexis' first birthday. The cake is based on a two-tier version by Yummy Cupcakes, which I just loved, and I added the turrets after seeing Dulcie Blue Bakery's version of that same cake. The tier sizes are 9", 7" and 5" and I will be writing a tutorial for my Facebook Page very soon. Thank you for looking!

The black bird from Angry Bird's Space for Jack's 6th birthday. The bird ws baked in the Wilton 6" ball pan and frosted with ganache to help keep the shape. The bird's over-sized crest contained an indoor firework, which, when lit, short sparks a foot into the air! All good fun. A Dia de los Muertos cake I made for a party. I used the Wilton 3D skull pan, but carved down his jutting cheekbones and manly chin at bit. He's covered with black Satin Ice fondant and the decorations are all Wilton fondant, moulded in the green, orange and blue Wilton moulds, cut with cutters, or piped with royal icing. These are my first roses - I was given a personal tutorial by my friend Yahaira from Baked. Can't thank you enough!

4 tiers of Monsterness for Emma's first birthday party. 10, 8, 6 and 4" tiers of Sulley, Mike Wazowski, Randall the baddy and baby Boo. Nobody told me that grass tipping a ten inch tier would take three hours and be quite so agonizing. ;-)

Chevron Baby Shower
A little 7" cake for a baby shower with a chevron and bird theme. The fondant topper was modeled on a pair of antique children's boots that will be in the new baby's bedroom. I used the chevron tutorial from Jessicakes blog, but forgot to add an inch to the circumference, so I ended up with a gap at the back. Luckily, I'd been asked for pom poms if possible, so used them to hide the join. I forgot to add the 'baby' plaque and the birds' wings before I took the photo. Doh.
