I live in Australia and my client is from the UK, like myself. Every year when she was a kid she had a Marks and Spencers Colin the Caterpillar cake so she wanted one for her 40th! Colin was meant to feed 50 people though so i suggested having Colin on a grass bed, as you can see thats what we did. Colin is a chocolate roll covered in ganache with white chocolate face and boots! Grass is piped Dream Whip coloured green, main cake is vanialla sponge with dream whip filling. Daisys are mexican paste, birthday sign is dark and white chocolate.
Pink, Black and Silver theme for clients 40th birthday. Same makeup as the 50th Birthday cake i did but different design with rice paper picture mounted on gumpaste panel inserted into the cake. 40 made out of gumpaste also.
First attempt at 2 tier sponger cake. Fondant icing with fondant decs, gumpaste 50 and wire mounted decs.
First baby bump cake! Middle of the bump didnt cook fully through but hollowed it out and filled it with dreamwhip frosting/filling and it was a great idea as the mum-to-be LOVED the filling! Phew! Bump was made using a pyrex bowl and the boobs were made using cakes cooked in muffin tins and trimmed to suitable shape! Really enjoyed making this!
