The "break Up" Cake
Yellow cake made from scratch. Cream Cheese Frosting. 8" round double layer cake. I made this for a friend who was going through a break up. I wanted him to laugh and since he was completely single, no gf, no kids, no roommates I made a smaller cake. I also wanted room to write out on the platter. I used the grass/hair tip to create the lawn on top, I smoothed a path down the top of the cake and continued it down the side. I bordered the cake with the grass tip also. I free-handed the guy and lawn mower and added my friends trademark hat. The wording on the platter says "Plenty Of Other Lawns To Mow". It's a bit dirty when you realize it's a break up cake and not for the neighborhood kid that's starting a summer "business".

Polkadot Confetti Cake With Cream Cheese Frosting
Although I like to make my cakes from scratch, this was one of the earlier cakes and had a very hard time finding the "candies" that go into a confetti cake so this was made from a cake mix/box cake. This is a 9" round, double layer cake. I used my standard cream cheese frosting. I outlined different size circles all over the cake and then used a star tip to fill them in. Although the picture doesn't give the colors I used justice, I used violet, teal, and pink gel coloring.

Yellow Cake With Buttercream Frosting Covered In Fondant And Decorated With Gumpaste
The bottom is a 12x12 square yellow cake. The top is a 9" round yellow cake. I covered it in buttercream fondant and used gumpaste to decorate the cake. It has daisies on top. The center of the daisies I used gumpaste dyed gumpaste ball of each color and then I used "gum glue/adhesive" which is just a little water and some small little chunks of gumpaste mixed together. It takes about 20 minutes for the gumpaste chunks to dissolved in the water. So I used the gumpaste adhesive and a paint brush to dab a little bit onto the centers of the daisies and then dipped it into colored sugar crystals.

Banana Cupcake With Keylime Cream Cheese Frosting
I made a banana cupcake from scratch. Then frosted the cupcake with a key lime cream cheese frosting. This was a request from the soon to be bride and although I had my reservations on the combination, I tried out a smaller batch for the hubby, my kids, neighbors and myself so that we could try them before the cupcake order needed to be done and delivered. I didn't want the bride and all of her guests for her bachelorette party to be disappointed. To my surprise they were really tasty! I only used 2 tbsp worth of fresh squeezed key lime juice added to my regular recipe of cream cheese. It gave the cream cheese a zing but wasn't overpowering. I also want to mention I really DON'T like anything lime, but this was super yummy!
