Razorback Cake
This cake was for a surprise baby shower. That's what I call fan-base dedication - game day and celebrate a new baby girl all in the same day. I apologize for the poor quality pictures. Between bad lighting and a bad camera... I do the best I can! The cake is frosted with BC, decor is fondant. The razorback is painted with gel food coloring. Only thing I would change if I could go back is to have been able to let my gel dry longer before I added the tusks and white part of the eye (they were very slightly pink). But since it was for a girl, it didn't seem that bad. =)

Rapunzel Tower Cake
The daughter of this customer wanted to do Rapunzel for her theme (she loved the movie Tangled). So we decided to do a tower with Rapunzel inside. The cake is six 6" layers of strawberry cake with strawberry frosting covered in MMF. The roof is marshmallow treats covered with rows of MMF shingles. The vines are MMF, flowers and Rapunzel are made from modeling chocolate. Leaves are royal icing. If I had the cake to do again, I would have put more support dowels into each layer. But the cake held up fine.

Camo Birthday Cake
I wanted to do something a little different on this cake. Not everyone LOVES fondant and since this was a chocolate cake with milk chocolate frosting and a hunting theme... I thought why not take advantage of that creamy brown frosting. Turned out great! The top and trim are made from MMF that has been 'painted' with coloring gel. I then etched some lines, twigs and such onto it with a fondant tool (a toothpick would work the same). To get the leaf imprints, I used a clean leaf off of a silk flower bundle. You just lay it flat onto the still wet coloring, gently press it to adhere and then peel it off. Leaves the pattern of the leaf and makes a great effect on the cake. The bow is made from modeling chocolate, arrows are toothpicks with modeling choc tips/feathers.

80Th Birthday
I was asked to make a cake for a celebration of a young lady turning 80. =) She liked bright colors, so we decided to use teal for the frosting. At 80, you obviously have an extensive family tree. I actually took ideas from here on CC (I will have to look and see who the main inspiration cake belonged to! Sorry!). The customer and her mother were very pleased. The cake is vanilla with BC, MMF trim around layers, and the tree/leaves are made from modeling chocolate and dusted with gold shimmer dust.
