I handmade the "60" topper using rhinestones since 60 is the "diamond" year. There are 6 gumpaste roses (one for each decade). Not sure if you can tell in the picture, but the ribbon around the cake board has rhinestones attached to it as well. There are white sugar crystals sprinkled on the cake board around the cake. This was quite an undertaking! The tires are rice krispy treats covered in fondant. The truck is all chocolate cake covered in fondant. The "dirt" is graham crackers. The truck is sitting on a 6" x 12" board that is 1/4" thick and attached to the bottom board by 4 wooden dowels which are hidden behind the tires.
Princess Castle cake I made using the Wilton Romantic Castle Cake Set. For the towers that are sitting on the board, I used candy melts to attach them to the board. For the towers that go through the cake, I attached plastic dowels to them using candy melts as well. Worked great and the cake held up through transport with no problem. I also left the top turrets off until it was in its final location. I was afraid they would make it too top heavy to survive the drive. Thanks for looking :)
