I made this for my daughter's 9th birthday - my oldest daughter found an old (1950's) cake book at the second hand book shop and it had a really old Dolly Varden cake in it, Miss 9 decided that was what she wanted, only instead of a plain white dress she wanted pink and green! I was concerned about her colour choice, but it looks really pretty together in my humble opinion LOL! The skirt ruffles are a bit runny (the royal icing was) but it was getting late and I wasn't going to mess about making stiffer icing at that stage!

12" Mud cake with chocolate ganache & MMF, with a 9" white choc mud cake stacked on top. Christmas colours and themed decoration, with Santa, his sack with pressies, a snowman and a Christmas tree on top.
Vanilla stacked cake for 'house' part, chocolate square cakes cut in half and placed on cake board to create gabled roof. Buttercream crumb coat, and MMF in red for house, and white for snowy roof. All figures etc made from gumpaste.

Vanilla cake with buttercream under MMF. Gumpaste ballerina. Made as a gift for my girls ballet teacher after the end of year concert. I am still learning and experimenting with techniques :)

Shoe from gumpaste made by following the tutorial here at cake central - thank you, thank you, thank you - my shoe mad daughter was thrilled with her 21st birthday cake. It's not perfect but not a bad effort for an amateur!
