This cake was a joint b-day cake for my niece and nephew who are both Angry Birds OBSESSED!!! A very special thanks to CC member Mooj- not only did I use her cake for inspiration, but the kids INSISTED that hers was the EXACT cake they wanted. Mine didn't come close to the exceptional detail that hers displayed, but the 8 and 10 year old were happy :)
Frank The Combine
everything cake except head (rkt) and the silver part and wheels.(just fondant). I forget what the front part of the combine is called, -my former farmer dad would be let down! :)
For my friend's daughter. The party was a tie-dye converse party where they got to take white converse and decorate them as they wished- then keep them.
This is my first attempt at IMBC- i piped it with a petal effect i saw someone do on here. The leaves, acorns, apple baskets and pumpkins are all fondant. TFL
Mickey Mouse Meets Goofy
I did this cake for a joint bday party- it was for a 2, 10 and 17 year old. I used to nanny for the younger two. It was a mickey themed party for the 2 year old, but the 10 year old wanted goofy included so since he is a RKT nut, I made his "layer" the goofy hat. The two year old got the bottom tier, and the 17 year old (who could have cared less about all of this cake stuff) got the middle tier- and each of their ages were on the back of the cake
This cake was inspired by another one I saw here on CC and by my friend Alicia. She makes these type of flowers out of fabric for little girls on headbands.
This was made for my youngest brother who has been deployed to Afghanistan. I made it with the flag on the inside layering, but was too busy at the party to remember to take a picture once it was cut! :P On the back is the Air Force motto. It's buttercream. I normally do fondant, but since I had to travel 650 miles back home and THEN make the cake- I decided against bringing all of my fondant tools for the trip.
This was for my friend and her family who spend a weekend annually at LBI. She wanted 'beachy' and was going to combine it with a small birthday party for her son- she got a special candle she was going to put on the one side of the cake- hence my figures all being on one side! :) Fondant cake- GP figures, chocolate shells.
Cake for my friend's son. Got the idea from another CC'er- can't find the picture just now or I'd give specific credit. cake body, rkt head, hat and feet.
This was for my friend's mother. She was having a surprise 60th- she's obsessed with dolphins and the color scheme of the party was lavender (which I wasn't informed of until a week before) Tried incorporating lavender in the isomalt coral and choc decorations (creatures and shells).
4Th Of July Cake
cake for our family get together... wanted to try the flag inside the cake trick. really fun.
Yankee Rehearsal Cake
This cake was for a friend who wanted to surprise her fiance at their rehearsal dinner. He's a huge yankee fan- her a huge mets fan. She compromised (for this day only! ha ha) and had a yankee jersey with their 'new' last name put on the back with the day of their wedding as the number. Buttercream grass, fondant jersey, rkt hat with fondant brim. TFL!
This cake is my first attempt at ganache under fondant. It was vanilla cake with white chocolate ganache. One layer had white choc filling and the other was raspberry. All fondant except for cross which was candy melts. TFL!
This is a cake I made for my friend's daughter's 1st communion. It is a 12, 10, 8 and 6" vanilla cake with rasp filling. MMF. gumpaste daisies, chocolate cross and fondant draping. Thank you teaparty for your help and for the inspiration. The little girl loved your design and was very happy with the final product. Thanks for looking!
Phineas & Ferb
This is a cake I made for my friend's son's birthday. The cake is covered in BC and fondant with gumpaste 3D figures and a RKT tree covered in royal icing. TFL!!
