I made the cake and cupcakes for the back-to school teacher luncheon. Thank you teachers! The trees were inspired by a beautiful "chikadodle" cake. I learned a lot from this cake. I now know why you let a covered cake rest (and harden) for a few hours before decorating. The blue was (almost) perfect. The trees were so heavy that they pulled the blue down and caused waves. This was a chocolate cake with raspberry jam and choc icing. Fondant on the cake and the flower is half/half fondant and gum paste. My customer wanted a sunflower cake for her daughter's birthday. I loved the cake by "Kitagrl" and thought I would give it a try. I have limited experience, but thought I did pretty well. Thanks to my niece for helping. Thanks for looking.
