I made the cake and cupcakes for the back-to school teacher luncheon. Thank you teachers! The trees were inspired by a beautiful "chikadodle" cake. I learned a lot from this cake. I now know why you let a covered cake rest (and harden) for a few hours before decorating. The blue was (almost) perfect. The trees were so heavy that they pulled the blue down and caused waves.
