This was a cake my friend asked me to make for her husband's 40th birthday two days before the party. We put so many candles on top, the whole cake almost went up in flames. :)
I have to say thank-you to the winner of the spring contest for the inspiration for this cake. I made it for Easter, and everyone loved it. The flowers are gumpaste, and the stems are fondant. I didn't have time to make a fondant bow though, so it's just ribbon. Thanks again!
This picture makes the fondant look a little bit darker than it was. I used wilton delphinium blue color for the fondant.
My first attempt at steampunk. It took awhile, but it was a lot of fun!
