My First 3D Cake: Thomas
No laughing! LOL This was a chore to do and yes I cried when it was destroyed. LOL This for my nephews 3rd birthday. I left the layers lumpy to add to the mountain-y look. All accents are fondant. Thomas is fondant. Even though he looks possessed, my nephew loved it! :) Note the last photo of the TRAIN WRECK! LOL

Woods - June 11, 2011
Square, 3 tier (each being 2 layers), per bride: bottom is chocolate with chocolate ships, middle is butter, top is chocolate, ivory buttercream. Real flowers: peonies (I wont get into how big a deal it was to get these!), roses, baby's breath and greenery. Topper is a custom made (by bride's brother) replica of the brand the groom uses on his ranch. Sheer green ribbon, pearl pins. The box it sits on was my gift to them (they are friends of mine) and took a bit of sneaking. LOL Box is actually an upside down trophy basketball display case. I mounted a light in the "top" to shine down on a wooden box with bride and groom's horse show spurs, trophy belt buckles, a rose and some green for accent, all of this sitting on a mirror to reflect the light. The sneaking came from the brother of the bride having to "steal" the buckles and spurs with out them finding out! ;) We had a minor mishap on the way to the reception hall: the icing MELTED. I had 11 hours in this cake BEFORE we went to the location.... and I pretty much had to REDO all the icing, AND still set up the box, stack and decorate the cake, in 3 and 1/2 hours! Nopressure, right!?? Thanks for looking!

Tylar's 7Th Birthday Cake 4-29-11
For my daughter's 7th. My first go at wrapping a cake in chocolate. 3 layer fudge cake, butter cream between each layer and all over cake. Wrapped in a solid sheet of chocolate (I had to make it, no where to buy it here.). 7 REAL roses, ribbon top and bottom, twigs painted to match the ribbons. (This as a practice run with real flowers, in prep for a wedding cake June 4) Thanks for looking. :)

My Daughter's 6Th Birthday Cake!
My daughter wanted a wedding cake for her 6th birthday, and I was going for that idea... unfortunately, the heating element in my oven burnt out while I was baking layers!!! So, Instead of the 3 teir, double-layered teirs that were going to be 4" high each... she only got TWO teirs, each double layers... and each only 2 inches high. I made the topper in advance from silk flowers. I made it to fit on a BIG cake, so it looks a bit awkward on this little cake. LOL Butter cake, rasperry puree in between each layer, buttercream iced, fondant covered, Brone Luster Dust buffed on, mettalic broze ribbon around each layer. Even though it was only about 1/3 the size I was planning for, it still turned out lovely. I was thrilled with it and so was my daughter and all her guests :) Thanks for looking! PS- Only my 4th cake ever!! ;)

Eliza's Pony Cake
I made this cake for my friend's daughter's 2nd birthday. It worked out well as a practice run for my daughter's 6th birthday tomorrow! Pink fondant over strawberry cake (6"x2") (She wanted this "just for Eliza"!) Horse and dots are gumpaste tinted brown... horse hand cut, after tracing around paper cutout. Trim around bottom is just ribbon. This cake is my 3rd cake ever, and by far my best. Lets see how well I do for tomorrow! My daughter wants a 3 teir "wedding cake"!! (The most interesting part about this cake: I had to SHIP it from Ohio to Tennessee!! You should have seen the looks I got from the Post Master!!) :) Thanks for looking!

Anslie's 2Nd Birthday
I made this cake for my daughter's 2nd birthday. Its only my second ever cake! Bottom layer was white cake tinted green, with pink fondant over... middle layer was pink strawberry flavored cake with green fondant, top layer same as bottom. I made Froggies from fondant, and it was so much fun! The sanil is also fondant, with an M&M! The spirals on top were fondant, wrpped around juice box straws until set... Hand piped "anslie" and the 2 was fondant covered in colored sugar. Thanks for looking, and thanks for the ideas!! (Oh and M&Ms all over the board!)
