First Professional Competition Cake
This is my first professional competition cake, well first competition as well as first professional competition. Looking at the score sheets, it looks like I placed third, but they only recognized the winner. It was for America's Baking and Sweet Show in Schaumburg, IL.

Spring Umbrella
The top tier is almond cake that I airbrushed. The bottom tier is fondant covered like the top. I airbrushed the sky and grass on the bottom, then I thinned buttercream and painted texture into the grass and added the pink "flowers". The umbrellas are wafer paper that I printed patterns on.

86 Monte Carlo Ss
Here is my first attempt at carving a car cake. (I added the door trim after the photo was taken, but just before delivery time so I didn't get another picture lol) This is vanilla cake with a swiss meringue variation. Not without it's flaws but I was quite happy with my first time carving a car. (First time carving anything this detailed)

My Best Friends Wedding
I made this cake for my best friend. Saturday I delivered this cake then changed clothes and stood at her side while she said I do to the love of her life. 7 hours later he tried to help a motorist that slid off the road while on their way to the hotel after the reception. Both the stranded motorist and my best friends new husband where struck by a car then run over by the two cars behind it. They both died. Now I stand at my best friends side as we try to stay strong for the kids and grieve her greatest loss. I am simply lost as to how this could happen. We will be leaving shortly to collect his belongings and file the marriage certificate. My heart is broken.

Fantasy Flower Wedding Cake
This was for a bride wearing a red wedding dress. I would love to give credit to the designer this cake is based on, but I was not able to find them online and the bride brought me the picture. If you look to the left of the bottom tier there is bear claws cutting through the cake exposing the Chicago bears logo, a surprise for the groom. Tfl

Movie Reel Graduation
My friends all know they are my guinee pigs when it comes to trying to designs or techniques. This was no exception... This is the first attempt at making movie reel cakes. The tops and bottoms of each reel are cake boards covered in fondant. The cakes are iced in buttercream and the edible images were then attached. The hats and clapboard are fondant. The cake flavors are lemon, chocolate and vanilla

Round Wedding Cake With Gumpaste Roses
This was for a bride that wanted a recreation of a cake that I had already made only changing the top flower arrangement and the colors of the flowers. It took way too much time to match the colors for this wedding. I don't know what I was doing that I spent soooo much time with color matching.

1St Fake Wedding Cake
This is a display cake that I made, and the first time I have attempted to do a fake cake. Wow was it difficult to ice and decorate these weightless dummies! I did a paper thin coat of buttercream on it to smooth out the surface of the dummy as well as giving the fondant something to cling too. Maybe I should take a different route to avoid trying to ice these slippery little suckers! The ruffles and pearls are fondant with gumtex. I hand painted them with a more dull silver to try to keep a romantic look.
