My friend asked me to do this cake for her son's 16th birthday. He was heavily into skateboarding so hence I came up with this design - incorporating the skate park into the #16.
I made this cake for a friend's mother-in-law's 90th birthday. We took aspects from her life such as knitting, feeding magpie birds, her beloved cat, pot planting and incorporated them around the cake. The top teir was chocolate cake and the bottom was choc mud cake. All decorations were made out of modelling chocolate.
This was actually for a hen's day celebration - inspired by the Madhatters/ wonderland theme. The hat was made out of 3x choc mud cakes, the madhatter, the teapot and all the other decorations were made out of modelling chocolate. I placed a couple of loose cards on the bottom for extra detail. I am so happy with how this all turned out.

The death star was made out of white choc mud - but unfortunately one side collapsed at the last minute - so the shape was a little off. Dark vadar and the x-fighter were both sculpted out of modelling chocolate.
My sister in law was celebrating with her mother's group all the babies in the group's 1st birthday. So we came up with this idea. Each cupcake was topped with a replica baby based on each baby in the group and then their 1st initial was also used. The present cake in the middle was purely for the mums to enjoy.
I made 140 cupcakes for this wedding and a smaller 8" chocolate mud cake for the top tier. The top tier is decorated with handmade roses and then we scattered real roses throughout the stand for extra decoration which really made it stand out. The cupcakes were also a 50/50 mix of chocolate mud and white chocolate mud cakes - the white choc mud ones were iced with chocolate icing and the chocolate mud ones were iced with vanilla icing, and each were decorated with a tiny handmade red rose.
my son is obsessed with Lego and asked me for a lego cake. The lego man is made totally out of modelling icing. The bricks behind are chocolate mud cake And I decorated each cupcake with a lego brick I had made from icing also.
