World Cake
Pound cake using the sports ball pan. Iced in bc, covered in MMF. This picture hides all the mistakes. I must have rushed this cake because the top kept sliding around. I almost forgot to put in supports - it was a little late, not sure they helped. I am still having problems wrapping fondant around the round shape. Does anyone have any pointers, I welcome them. Oh, this was made for our Missions Conference at our church. I wanted to write the theme on the board but, since I had problems with the cake I was afraid the writing would not turn out so well either so I skipped it. I put star stickers 'in space' when I got it to church - no one was going to eat the fondant off the board.

Candy Barrel
WHOOHOO!!! I finally made a cake that is the same quality as other cakes I see on CC!!!! :) My first candy barrel cake. It is a DH chocolate fudge cake, altered w/3 jumbo eggs and coffee instead of water plus some choc. chips thrown in. Iced with a very creamy, delicious like canned, chocolate frosting I found on Wilton site. Baked in 8 in. pans I think, 10 reg. sized kit kats around, double ribbon and a lg. bag of regular m & m's.

Cowboy/western Cake
My first tiered cake! Inspired by bayamoy and jylbug combo. This was made just for fun for our Harvest Days dinner at church, which was really a chili cook-off. Bottom is Chocolate WASC, top two regular WASC. Top is rainbow colored for the kiddos. Chocolate ganache under MMF and inbetween layers. I'm getting luster dust next time for the belt buckle. I see lots of mistakes in this, but that leaves lots of room for improvement for next time!

Frozen Buttercream Transfer
I love this technique! I used 3 layers of pound/WASC from the freezer that I was afraid would be bad should I leave them in any longer. The h.s. in which I teach has a Redskin mascot and we have permission to use the Washington Redskin logo w/our own colors so I put it on the cake. Two different recipes of buttercream, just to get what I had on hand used up.

1St Basketball Cake
Thanks to jj1953 for the inspiration! OK, every first for me is such a learning experience. Buttercream under fondant, rainbow w/icing colors. Instead of a sturdy pound cake, I used WASC for this, big mistake. Not sturdy enough, lost shape, ball not good and round. Wilton ball pan. The floor is just a fondant covered board, handpainted. It was so easy and I love how that part of it turned out. The jersey is way too small, but all of this said, I will know better next time.

First Birthday
I was asked to make a cake to match the birthday decor. I planned on standing the #1 up, but the decided not to so the #1 candle could stand up. It was a WASC rainbow cake inside, also requested. Buttercream w/MMF accents. I don't think the customer liked it though nearly everything matched the samples I was given exact.y.

Apple Cake
Just registered on the site. This is my first carved and first cake covered in fondant. I had a little problem around the bottom. 2-6 in. layers, top was baked in a 6 in. glass bowl. Butter cream between layers. WASC cake w/buttercream and box fondant. I handpainted everything. Inspired by other apple/back to school cakes on this site.
