Alternative Spiderman
Okay, this cake is not one of my best, but the story is good. This cake was for my son's first day of Kindergarten. I had a cake scheduled for the same day and I ran out of time. An hour and a half before my son got home my cousin and I made this. The spiderman head is rice crispy treats and the body is left over cake from the other cake. It looks like a solid square on the bottom, but the middle is hollow. We covered it in choc. clay, but ran out of that also. The back of spidey looks scarey. He loved it!

Movie Reels
This was a going away party for a girl that does door to door ministry. That is what the book bag is for. The movie reels was for a weekly movie night her and some other girls have. The book bag is buttercream with choc. clay handle, zippers, and sides. The movie reels were choc. painted with silver luster dust.

Stargazer Lillies
Some of the lillies were made of choc. and some with fondant. It was so humid and the fondant wasn't holding it's shape, so I made some with choc. and they did much better. The cake is iced in vanilla carmel buttercream, and had a choc ribbon at the base of both cakes. There were also edible pearls going down the front of the top cake but you can't see them. I learned to use less real butter in my icing on humid days. The cake was melting away!!

Purse, Lipstick, And Polish
Sorry for the bad picture. I loaned out my good camera, and this was the result from the dinosaur camera that I have here!! This was for my daughters sleepover. Choc. banana cake with reese and coolwhip for the center (it's what she asked for). The purse handle, lipstick, polish, and clasp are all choc. clay. Iced in buttercream.

Congrats! Pool
My friend just became the head of the aquatics department (swim instuctor) at the school. This was a congratulations cake for her. Everything is choc. clay and buttercream. The cake is Mocha Latte. The pool was a replic of the one at her house. I CAN NOT write on cakes. No matter how much I practice it comes out looking like my 5 yr. old did it.

Garden Of Flowers
This is choc. clay flowers, lady bugs, butterfly, and fence posts. This icing and leaves are buttercream. Top cake is Almond w/ almond cream, middle cake is mocha latte, the bottom cake is choc. covered cherry. This was for a lady retiring at the hospital that loves flowers. My house was so humid the flowers didn't turn out very well. I hope to figure somthing else out next time to make the flowers look nicer.

Catapillar To Butterfly
I did this for my daughter's 3rd grade class. They are learning about catapillars and butterfies. I would have used the tip that gives the "grass" look but I dropped it in the garbage disposal (it is no more!). The tree, butterfly, catapillars, red flowers, and crysilus (I don't know if I spelled that right?) are all made of chocolate clay. White choc. almond buttercream for leaves and faux grass. The cake was choc. with choc cream and reese's filling.

Sleeping Baby 1
Almond flavor cake with strawberry cream center. All the details (baby face, bottle, booties, rattle, teddy bears, onsie, and diaper pin) are all white chocolate. My daughter made the teddy bears and my husband made the diaper pin. Also the bassinet skirt and cover are also made from the white chocolate. I really like working with it. I think I will be using it a lot more.

School Supplies
I did this as a going away present for my daughters teacher. The apple I made with two small round bowls and scooped out the centers and put fresh raspberries and cream in it (it was just for the teacher). The pencil was smash cake and buttercream, and the ruler was yellow cake with bavarian cream center and buttercream icing.

Crumbling Bows
I did this cake for a June wedding. I had a terrible time with the fondant bows. I had just finish my sisters wedding cake 1500 miles away, came back home and had three days to bake and do this cake. For time sake I bought Wilton's ready made fondant. I took it straight out of the package and rolled it out. Covered the parts I wasn't using (so they wouldn't dry out). The bows were so crumlbly I brought extra fondant to the place I set the cake up so I could fix any mishaps. I am glad I did! I used it.

Motorcycle
This cake was a graduation surprise for a woman who loves motorcycles. All of the base was done with buttercream. The motorcycle was "smash" cake for the body, donut for the back wheel, ho ho for the front wheel, and all the accents were done with gum paste. I am glad my husband helped show me where some of the accents went (other than the handle bars and wheels I was lost!)

Rubber Ducky Takin' A Bath
This cake was turning into a headache. My MMF wouldn't stop crumbling (and suggestions), so I ended up using gum paste for the bath tub. The faucet and duck were MMF. The bar of Dove soap was gumpaste and so was the hanger with the shirt (which broke in half on my was there). Water of course is colored piping gel and everything else is buttercream. It was white chocolate cake with cookies and cream filling.

Before The Disaster
This is a hazelnut cake with darkchocolate buttercream center and white chocolate swiss buttercream on top. The wedding and the reception took place in the same room so we were seated in the same seat for the wedding that we sat in for the reception. Someone taking pictures bumped the table during the cermony and made the top cake move forward. I couldn't get up until it was over or I would disturb the wedding. Well about 5 sec. later the top of the cake fell! I am also uploading the "fixed" cake.

Little League Cake
This cake was made for my neighbor for their sons little league team. They of course were the "Red Socks". I did little baseballs out of buttercream around the border. After doing the stitching my hand hurt bad!! The Red Socks design was freehand. Of course you can tell that because it is so shakey looking! Hope you like it anyway (the boys did).

Cookie Cake
This was a cake for a 50th wedding anniversary. The story was when the couple got married they couldn't afford to buy a wedding cake for their guests. They went out and bought a jar of milk and some chocolate cookies for their guests. This cake represents that day. The cake was chocolate fudge and the cream in the middle was cookies and cream. One picture made the cake look like it was leaning. It wasn't (at least I don't think so!!).
