i made this for a co-worker who has a shoe fetish. this was the first time i have worked with gumpaste and i was hard. i don't know what i was doing wrong, but i manage to make a little wedge sandal on top of a white cake with chocolate filling. to say the least she was estatic. i just need more practice with gumpaste.
i seen so many variations of the ipod cake, i had to make this for my co-worker who is obsessed with ipods. i was a little difficult to smooth the buttercream without smearing into the white buttercream. so i did the best i could.
i made this with 3 layers of cake to give it some height. used some vanilla buttercream that i iced in red (although it looks like dark pink), and used the oreo cookies for the black dots. well my honey really enjoyed it
i made this cake for my sister's wedding as a gift to her. this was the first time i made anything like this. each layer consists of 3 layers with fresh strawberries and vanilla custard. on the outside i used a decorators comb to hide any imperfections. on the top corners i used imprints and traced with brown royal icing.
