Confetti And Bow Cake
This was for a customer that wanted a birthday cake for her boyfriend, but again, left it up to me to decide how to decorate it. I just went with a birthday theme and tried to do something I had never done before. The bow and confetti are made of white chocolate clay/gum paste blend. I used my kitchenaid fettucini roller for the first time to make the strips for the bow.

Cherries On Top Cake
This was a birthday cake, and the lady who ordered it didn't know what she wanted, so I had to come up with something. I was trying to copy some of the spectacular birthday cakes I've seen in the gallery, but at the same time keep it within her price range. It's made of white chocolate fondant and white chocolate clay/gum paste blend. Inside: rich chocolate cake with Buttercream Dream Recipe (from this site).

Wedding Cupcake Tower Pink&black
I made the tower out of cake boards and cake dummies, wrapping paper and ribbon, and glue. The cake and cupcakes were white chocolate cake with crusting white chocolate (recipe on this site). The cupcakes were topped with vanilla apeels stamped with their initial, and silver dragees. This was so easy to do. Cupcakes are the way to go!

Autumn Branch Wedding Cake
This is my first wedding cake. I made it for my sister's wedding October 9, 09. The branch is made of chocolate plastique, and the leaves are gumpaste dusted with powder food coloring. It isn't perfect, but not bad for my first and for only making cakes since May. I made the top 4 tiers fake and the bottom was red velvet cake with almond buttercream. The bride wanted the cake served throughout the reception. So I made separate sheet cakes in red velvet, chocolate, and pumpkin chocolate chip. That way everyone could enjoy eating the cake and still see my work of art! I seriously didn't sleep the night before or the day of the wedding. I learned a lot!
