Baby Einstein Caterpillar Cake
Many thanks to the others on C/C for the cute idea for this cake. The colors matched those on the invitations, plates, and napkins. The sheet cake (11x15) is white and cherry chip (swirl), and the caterpillar bodies (Wilton Mini Ball pan) are Cherry chip. All b/c frosting. Antenae are made from red candy melts. Apply melted candy in shape of antenae to foil with #3 or 4 tip. Let set, and apply second coat and fill in round area at tips. Put in freezer for 30 min. or so. With a sharp, thin bladed knife, carefully lift the antenae from the foil. Insert into caterpillar head.

Millenium Falcon
Thanks to Heathercollins0614 for this inspiration! I used 14" round pan, and 2, 13 X 9 pans to cut the pointy pieces, and the cockpit, and a 6" round pan (cut 1 inch high) for the upper deck. All chocolate cake, All buttercream frosting. I ran out of time so I didn't get to "Viva" the smooth sections and the sides. I would have liked to have done more detail on the sides too. Still, my 7 year old grandson (and his guestsand their parents) were very impressed. I had trouble molding the radar screen, the guns and turet out of Royal Icing, so I improvised by using 2 cut straws in playdoh - dried and spray painted. The radar screen was a new suction cup, spray painted and inserted with a toothpick. The cockpit windows could have been better if I didn't have such a shakey hand. I turned 68 on Friday.....not as young as I used to be!!

Batman Logo Cake
Thanks to a lot of others on CC for the inspiration of this cake. I needed a small cake to go along w/ a Batman shaped cake for my grandson's 5th. Birthday party. This was just what I needed in the time I had to make it. I would have loved to have done the city scene around the bottom but time didn't permit. This was chocolate cake, Torted once. Buttercream Frosting.

Stacked Presents Cake
Thanks to Vyvyan for inspiring me to try this. The graduate chose the colors to match her open-house "theme". The bottom "present" was chocolate cake w/ chocolate, peanut butter frosting between torted layers, and white B/C over. The middle "present" was lemon cake, torted with Red Raspberry jam between layers, and white B/C (and a hint of lemon juice) frosting over. The top "present" was Carrot Cake, torted with Cream Cheese frosting between and over. It was delicious. I cut cake boards for each size and covered w/ foil and sat them over dowel rods so they could be easily removed for cutting. I stacked them when we reached the destination and unfortunately, the pictures were taken before I put the borders around each present. :(

Fire Truck Cake
Sculpted shape, all B/C. Frosted smooth using VIVA method. Lots of things went wrong and had to do last minute improvising for windows, truck grill, and ladders, b/c original methods did not turn out. Not my best effort - but 3 year old Grandson loved it and didn't know the difference.

..."the Future Looks Great"
This cake is featured in the Wilton 1995 Year book. The tiered cake has 3 tiers...there is a Star shaped tier on top of the bottom round tier. I think I should have use a purple border on that one to show it better. The bottom tier was white cake torted in 3 layers with white frosting over and between. The Star tier was chocolate cake torted in 3 layers with white frosting over and chocolate peanut-butter frosting between layers. (Chocolate frosting + peanut-butter to taste.) The top tier was lemon cake mix, torted in 3 layers with white frosting with a light touch of Lemon juice to taste over, and Raspberry Jam between layers. Stars on side of cake and on lolly pop sticks are color flow. Very fragile....that's why I didn't use all that were recommended...due to breakage.
