Ribbon Roses And Pearls On Green
Yellow cake, buttercream frosting, covered in pale green fondant. I hand rolled the pearls because I can't get a mold in my area (hope to soon). First attempt at ribbon roses. Roses and pearls are coated with vodka and white luster dust. There was a large 'A' as a topper, but I didn't allow enough time for it to harden, so it didn't stay intact long enough to get on to the cake. I had a little bit of a problem with the fondant. I think I rolled it too thin, and I didn't dowel the cake because I didn't think it was necessary with a cake so small...it was!

Triple Chocolate
This is a dark chocolate fudge cake with milk chocolate butter cream. Each layer is torted with white chocolate ganache using a milk chocolate buttercream dam. The chocolate collar and lid are white and milk chocolate . This was my first attempt at filling with anything beside frosting, and using a chocolate collar and lid. The collar didn't end up shiny like most I've seen. Any suggestions?

Chocolate Roses
This was my first attempt at making/using molding chocolate. I planned to cover the entire cake with it, but I didn't make enough, so I decided on just doing the ribbon. I was pretty happy with the roses, but not so happy with the buttercream, as usual. This is fudge cake with coffee buttercream and milk chocolate molding chocolate for the ribbon and roses.

Navy On Pink
This was my first attempt at covering a cake with fondant (beside laying a sheet of fondant on a flat cake). I got most of it to lay pretty well. It actually started out as an attempt at a my first topsy turvy cake, but that was a complete failure. I'm happy with the way the fondant turned out for a first attempt, but not so happy with the decorations. They need work. Yellow cake, BC frosting, homemade fondant, BC decorations.
