Bridal Shower Tea Party
Earl Grey cupcakes with Honey Buttercream for my friend Aylin's tea party themed bridal shower.
I'm pretty pumped that Elsa & Anna actually turned out ok! I've never done figure modeling before, so I was pretty sure they were going to be hideous, and that I was going to have to run out and find some toy versions to add to the cake instead.
Doctor Who - The Tardis
I was terrified to try airbrushing this thing, but in the end I was quite pleased! I followed the Artisan Cake Company tutorial for painting the cake base, but used Jessicake's wax paper technique (from her craftsy class) for adding on all the panel details. I used all fondant, because I was worried that modeling chocolate wouldn't take the paint well. The light on top is just a battery-operated floral light.
Minnie Mouse Birthday Cake With An Attempt At The Disney Font
Minnie Mouse birthday cake, with an attempt at the Disney font!
Nigel The Owl
My project from the Nigel the Owl class with Kaysie Lackey. LOVED this class! Learned so much about building armatures, creating branches, cake carving and random other tidbits. I have a looong way to go, but I'm pretty happy with the first attempt!
U-Jam Fitness - Team Cray Bbq
I'm a U-Jam (dance fitness) instructor, and these cupcakes from the summer bbq we had with our gym family. We're a crazy bunch, so we call ourselves Team Cray. :)

A birthday cake for my friend Jen. Clearly this design is straight from jessicakes' new craftsy class "Clean & Simple Cake Design", which I highly recommend! I still need more practice, but this is by far the sharpest I have ever been able to get my cake corners!

This Little Guy Was A Big Hit At A Holiday Party This Past Weekend A Huge Thank You To Englishcakelady For The Step By Step Tutorial Avai
This little guy was a big hit at a holiday party this past weekend. A huge thank you to EnglishCakeLady for the step by step tutorial (available on her facebook page "Royal Bakery")!
I have been waiting all year to use my wilton skull pan, and I LOVE it! The skull is covered with fondant, and dusted with cocoa powder and black color dust. I was too lazy to make royal icing to glue the skull halves to together, so I just drove a dowel through the whole thing since I was stacking it anyway. Fingers are fondant too, with chocolate ganache drips.
5Th Wedding Anniversary
I recreated the top tier of our wedding cake to celebrate our 5th wedding anniversary this past weekend. We did actually save the original in the freezer for a few years, but eventually tossed it since everyone was too chicken to try it. The funny part is that I let my husband choose the cake way back then, before my cake obsession started. It was the one part of the wedding where he got to have free rein.
