Too Goood To Be True
I made this cake for my nephew's birthday. My first attempt at chocolate cake. Instead of following just one recipe, I sort of combined the two recipes hoping it to be good. The end result was disastrous. I used too much of dark cocoa powder and used wheat pastry flour. No body could eat it...including me. I learnt a big lesson: Do not try a new recipe for any special occasion. Hence the title. It just looks pretty good from outside........too bad to taste.

Graduation Cake
This is a graduation cake made for my oldest nephew graduating from high school. Yellow pineapple cake with buttercream pineapple and almond filling. He is very health conscious. So, I tried to use as little cream as possible. The finish tell it all. I used the cut out cake bits to form the graduation cap which is covered with chocolate. I have used a square graham cracker covered it with chocolate and used it as the top of the cap.

First Square Cake With Flowers
The cake cracked. Tried to seal it with butter cream. Made rose flowers for the first time. Consistency was not so good and the petals have wrinkled edges. I did not like the pink color and never wanted brown roses. It was a disaster. So, I turned it into something into free style.

Pineapple Cake
This is the cake I made from scratch using 1 can of pineapple. Used low fat cream cheese blend with pineapple and roasted almonds as filling and outside covering to decorate. Does not look very good. But tasted excellent! This cake was prepared before I joined the cake making classes at Amore Cakes.
