Checkpoint Cake
My mother asked for a cake to bring for her colleagues for her last day before her summer holiday. She wanted something that reflected the firm where she works. They sell security cameras, pricetags and shop equipment for shops. The cake is white chocolate cake with strawberry/rhubarb mousse.

Spring Cake
Not quite what I had in mind. Tthe green fonadant is much too green, and I was very close to giving up while decorating, but it turned out allright in the end. Chocolate cake, with alternating layers of forest berry mousse and vanilla cream. Covered in fondant and decorated with royal icing.

Butterflies In Pastel
Birthday cake for my friend. The cake is layered with chocolate buttercream and covered in fondant. It is hard to see in the photo but is a pale green, then white and yellow flowers (also fondant) on the sides, and royal icing butterflies on top. This was my first attempt at making 'loose' decorations with royal icing, but definitely not my last.

Easter Bunnies
I had promised to bring the cake for an easter lunch at my brother's, but since I only came home from holiday the day before, I didn't have time to do all that much decorating. So this is what I ended up with instead. Carrot cake with chopped walnuts, raisins soaked in dark rum and orange and lemon peel, then layered with cream cheese frosting and decorated with a few quick bunnies and flowers.

Double Birthday Cake
This cake was for some of my parents' friends who both turned fifty within a few months and celebrated it together. The husband is a carpenter and the wife a hairdresser. The cake is hasselnut with chocolate buttercream, and then covered in fondant. All the decorations are made in fondant. They were blown away and are still talking about it.

30Th Anniversary Slot Machine Cake
This cake was made for my parents 30th anniversary. I couldn't come up with a way to combine my father's hobby of fishing with my mother's love of knitting, but as they are often to be found in front of slot machines, I thought this would be perfect. Both my parents and the guests loved it. The cake is split and layered first with Toblerone mousse (yummy!) and then raspberry mousse. It is covered in fondant and the writing is royal icing.
