This cake was for a close friend's son that is special needs. They took him out for a motorcycle ride on his birthday and surprised him with the cake when they returned. The cake is a two-layer cake made with thin layers of vanilla & chocolate cake, filled with vanilla mousse. The cake is covered in fondant and all accents are also made of fondant.
This was a fun cake to make because it was for a boy graduating from my alma mater! the bottom tier is vanilla, the middle tier is chocolate, and the top tier is vanilla & chocolate. The cap was made with chocolate cake, using half of a ball pan and then trimming the excess, topped with fondant. Hope you like it!
This was such a fun cake to make! This was for a 2 yr old boy's birthday. I used several ideas from cakes on CC and mixed them up to make my own creation. Since there would be several little ones at the party, I thought the cupcakes would be a great addition. The Peas, Mr. Potato Head, Lotso Bear, & Hammy are each made of fondant, the Army Men, Jessie, Buzz & Woody are each plastic toys. I visited my local hardware store for cake stand supplies, so easy to make! I ran out of time to properly cover the PVC pipe, but I'll definitely be reusing the stand. I hope you all like my Toy Story creation!
I made this "Safari Friends" birthday cake to match the partyware for the party. The turtle cake was a small "smash" cake for the birthday boy. Thanks to all the CC decorators that helped inspire the design of this cake!
Sesame Street themed 1st Birthday Cake. All figures are made with either all fondant or 50/50 with gumpaste.
Hand carved two-layer (vanilla & chocolate) cross cake covered with vanilla buttercream, with vanilla mousse filling. The beveled edge is detailed with royal icing. The cross on top is made of fondant with a silver ribbon buckle, which is covered with fondant. The inner cross and top circle have been accented with pearl dust.
Easter lamb cake I made using my grandmother's lamb mold. The cake was a cream cheese pound cake with cream cheese frosting. And of course "fresh" Easter grass & jelly beans surrounding.
Here is my Buzz Lightyear/Toy Story themed cake. Only Buzz Lightyear on top is a plastic toy, the other figures are made with fondant & gumpaste.
Not the best picture. I took the photo at night & it added some weird shadows. The cake was covered in Satin Ice fondant & the blossoms were made using Satin Ice gumpaste. The cake board was covered in fondant & the lettering was cut using the cricut cake Martha Stewart cartridge.
This cake was made for an avid crossword puzzler. I really had a short time to decorate, so it could definitely have been cleaner. The cake is covered in buttercream & the black accents are all made of fondant.
This cake was made in one night after my daughter promised her team we would bring a cake to the post championship game party the next night. We put a #1 on the cake before we knew they would win it all!!! The cake is covered in Satin Iced fondant. It's not my cleanest work, cause time was cut short, still delicious :)
This black & white bridal shower cake is covered in Satin Ice fondant. The flower is fresh & is stuck into the cake using a Wilton fresh flower cake spike. The tiers are 6" (white chocolate), 8" (vanilla), & 10" (Devils Food Chocolate).
This cake was a lot of fun to make, since I'm such a big Disney/Pixar fan. The cake is covered in Satin Ice Vanilla Fondant. Buzz Lightyear, Woody, Rex, & Army Men are each toys, while the other accents are all made of fondant. The inside of the cake is "rainbow" colored & vanilla flavored. Thanks to all of the Cake Central designers that inspired such a great cake!
I made this for my mother's 60th birthday. She is an avid collector of everything Wizard of Oz. Everything is made of fondant, except the Emerald City is rolled gumpaste.
