Engagement/graduation Cake
One of my fellow Dental Hygienists graduated from school. She also recently got engaged and asked if I could combine the 2 ideas. Everything is edible EXCEPT the diamond (I bought at JoAnn fabrics) and the mortarboard (which is cardboard wrapped in fondant). Thanks for looking!

Baptism Cake
This cake is actually a Baptism cake, not a first communion but it definitely could be used as one! This cake gave me quite the frustration as I tried a new Buttercream and realized this was a non crusting buttercream and could not get it as smooth as I wanted. (GRRR!) But it turned out ok. Handpainted stained glass details on gumpaste. Thanks for looking!

Bright Wedding Cake
My friend asked me to make her wedding cake. She said she wanted it "tie dyed" or "marbled". Her wedding color was the "pool blue" color and her daughters favorite colors were yellow, pink and purple and wanted them incorporated into it as well. She also wanted "WillowTree" figurines as the topper. Now, trying to come up with something that included all those factors was a challenge because she initially wanted the cake marbled with all those colors. After some thought I suggested that we only use blue and ivory for the main cake and then accent with some gum paste flowers in the pink, yellow and purple (and ivory). This was the first time doing the marbled fondant and the first time making gum paste flowers. I had so much fun making the figurines (to resemble the bride, groom and their 4 daughters.) Thanks for looking!

Mcc Dental Hygiene Class Of 2010 Grad Cake
Wow, this was fun to make... especially while I was trying to study for my Dental Hygiene finals. "Wilkin's (red) book" was white cake with strawberry filling and vanilla buttercream. Teal "Portfolio Binder" was dark chocolate cake with cookie's and cream filling. "Box of gloves" was red velvet cake with white buttercream filling. All cakes are covered in Satin Ice fondant. All dental materials (floss, instruments, prophy paste, Rinn Xray equipment, gauze, plaque indices liquid) are either made from gum paste or fondant. Thanks for looking!

"sofia"
I love when customers come up with new ideas. A friend asked me to make his daughter's 1st birthday cake... He said, "I don't know if you can do this but we were thinking maybe having individual cakes spelling out our daughter's name, with like, a different pattern on each cake." Me, "NO PROBLEM! I THINK I CAN DO THAT." And it turned out even better than I thought it would. All fondant and carved from (2) 9x13" cakes. Thanks for looking!

Coach's New Line: Poppy Wristlet
For my friend's 30th birthday... she LOOOVES Coach! (Who doesn't!) This is from their new line called "Poppy" and this is the graffiti print. Covered in Cocopan fondant and completely handpainted. Fondant accents such as the zipper and wrist strap. I used piping gel to get the red fondant to look like "patent leather." The Neman Marcus tag is just paper. Thanks for looking!

Baby Shower Cake
One of my professors asked me to make a shower cake for her good friend. She gave me the invitation and asked me to come up with something... and I decided to just make what was on the invitation! The frog "stuffed animal" is actually styrofoam covered in fondant. The texture was made with a (new) dish scrubber. The technique was in a Debbie Brown Book. Thanks for looking!

Graduation Cake
This was for my best friend's Grad School graduation. I stacked up "books" showing High School, her Bachelor's degree and now her Master's. I know you learn with every cake you do but I am not 100% happy with the books. I have seen some books on CC that are crisp and clean. Mine look a bit lumpy and bumpy. Practice makes perfect so I will continue on! All Satin Ice fondant with royal icing piping. Thanks for looking!

Fender Guitar Graduation Cake
Graduation cake for a guy that plays a Fender guitar. :) All fondant. The top "square" of the graduation cap is cardboard... I don't usually like to have non-edible parts on my cakes but I forgot to make that part earlier this week so it could dry in time. Oh well. Thanks for looking!

Dental Hygiene Class Graduation Cake
The graduating Dental Hygiene class asked me to make their cake. Their theme was "Survivor"... b/c they all SURVIVED that tough program! Everything is edible and made from/covered in fondant except the instuments which are made out of gumpaste. Handpainted logo, tiki torches and "wooden base." Thanks for looking!

Ufc Brownies
I know these aren't "cupcakes" but I had a tough time figuring out where to put them... they're not cookies, they're not cakes, they're not cupcakes. Ah well. Brownies with the UFC (Ultimate Fighting Championship) logo. I made the stencil myself by printing the logo out from the computer, traced it onto some plastic and then cut out the logo with an X-acto knife. I used royal icing for the stencil on the brownies. Thanks for looking!

Hand Painted Cake With Ri Eiffel Tower
OOoooo! This one was a fun one to do! Took longer than I anticipated but I LOVE IT! Cake covered in Satin Ice fondant. I had painted the striped and diamond pattern on. (I wanted it to look painted... so that's why you can see the brush marks). I made a Fleur de lis stencil out of plastic and used royal icing for the pattern. A special thanks goes to Confectioneista for the instructions for the Royal Icing Eiffel Tower! THANK YOU THANK YOU THANK YOU! ... and thanks for looking!

Wine Bottle Cake
I am invited to a wine tasting party and wanted to do this cake for it! I used the instructions from the "Confetti Cakes" book. I altered the size because I didn't need that much cake. (You can kind of tell the neck of the bottle is a bit out of proportion.... ah well). First time 3D wine cake and first time wood technique. I used a Dr. Konstantin Frank's wine bottle/label to look at. This is a popular wine in my area (Finger Lakes region of New York). All fondant. Handpainted wine label. Thanks for looking.
