Simple and cute for my elephant loving little sweetie's first birthday! Carrot cake and pink vanilla buttercream. Elephant is fondant as is the white border.
This was a replica of my Grandpa's Stetson. I was quite pregnant when I did this one and couldn't travel the 8 hours to his birthday party, but the cake made it there fine. It was his 80th biirthday. All MMF. The wax paper rolls were removed after the cake got there.
My daughter requested a fluffy unicorn from Despicable Me themed cake. This is what I came up with. The flower designs were inspired by a gorgeous unicorn cake on Flickr that I came across. Everything is MMF, I was super happy with my figure and love how the whole thing turned out! Cake was french vanilla with strawberry cheesecake filling. My little girl loves pink and strawberries. HAPPY 4TH BIRTHDAY SISIKA!!! :)
Thank you SOOOO much laurs_1981 for the cookies you did! I believe I saved them to my favorites LAST Christmas season and was so excited to try them out this year! Mine didn't turn out nearly as nice btu I was still happy with them! The guys at my husbands work loved them too!
So this was MY Baby Shower cake.. Now I was planning on making my own cake anyways, but my shower was supposed to be in NOVEMBER! My Mum had "decided" that we would have a Christmas themed shower... I was sad because I really wanted a Halloween themed one but my Mum said there was NO way. She was tooooo busy. Anyways, she had her friend order a Halloween baby shower cake about 2 months ago.. Last night when I went to deliver it.. Yeah, it was my shower. LOL!!! The cake was chocolate fudge with a chocolate mousse filling and chocolate buttercream. All details etc were done with MMF. The cupcakes in the background were pumpkin with vanilla buttercream. TFL!! :)
This was for my stepson's 8th birthday. The mask is a fondant plaque with fondant pieces hand cut and placed together on the plaque to make up the autobot symbol. Tried to marble red/blue MMF together as I was going for a red/blue/silver theme (Transformer's colors). I made 18 cupcakes with it as well. All red velvet cake (to match the color scheme), blue buttercream and silver sprinkles on the cupcakes. Birthday boy loved it. Not my finest work but he was happy. That's all that matters! TFL!
My Mum is obsessed with Disney. I found a purse online that inspired this cake and I was very unhappy with the outcome. :( Her birthday happened to fall on the busiest weekend I've had in years and I only had about an hour to throw this together in the middle of the night.. I'm quite pregnant and late night caking isn't working for me anymore. lol! Red Velvet cake, MMF. TFL!
Bride chose scrollwork design based on a pic printed from here. Bottom and top layer Orange Dreamsicle with Boston Cream filling, middle tier Cookies 'N' Cream with Boston Cream filling. Covered in MMF, royal icing scrolls and real flowers. Sorry for the terrible pic, I took it on my coffee table in a rush and had to edit out the background. lol! I'm hoping to get a better pic from the bride as there were more flowers added at the venue.TFL!
So this was ordered by the bride almost a year ago and I finally got it out of the way. The bride designed this cake completely by herself.. Her colors and that is her cake topper. I'm not a huge fan of the design/colors but it did look great at the venue all set up with everything else. The cake is pistachio on the bottom with fluffy white chocolate cream filling, the top tier is a dummy cake (per the bride's request). There are 8 dozen cake pops, banana cake, red velvet and tiramisu. TFL!!!
This is an eggless vanilla cake and cupcakes for a lady who orders from me every year for her daughter. I was inspired by my daughter's hat, lol, and did the image from the hat on the cake. The customer wanted strawberries around the side and that was pretty much her only request. Everything is buttercream except the strawberries and green pearl border (MMF) oh and Strawberry Shortcake is MMF as well. I put her together like a puzzle. TFL!
I wish I never took this order.. It was for my vet's wedding, ordered by her mother as a surprise.. They were delivered Saturday morning (wedding was to be in the afternoon) and left a bill as we visit the vet often and the MOB works there. We know her well so I trusted her.. Well a few days later, no word from anyone so I looked at my vet's facebook.. The wedding was CANCELED. I don't know what they did with the cuppies but I called MOB a few days later and she didn't mention the wedding canceling and went on and on about how beautiful the cupcakes were and that she would pay me when I brought the dog in for shots that week.. The day I took my dog in, she's not there. Took the day off. I left another bill and still no word. That was last week. UGH!!!! Anyways, the champagne colored ones were amaretto latte with vanilla buttercream, and the yellow were french vanilla with vanilla buttercream. (To match the colors)
A basket of 4 different flavors. Yum! The 5 spice is spice cake dipped in white chocolate and topped with cinnamon. The root beer float is root beer cake dipped in white chocolate and drizzled with more white chocolate. The triple chocolate is dark chocolate fudge cake, dipped in milk chocolate and drizzled with dark chocolate and the caramel banana is banana cake using caramel as a binder, dipped in white chocolate with a hint of yellow color and topped with crushed banana chips and a drizzle of caramel. TFL!! :)
Done as a topper for a bridal shower cake. This is my 2nd shoe and I drew the template myself. :) TFL!
The customer designed this cake completely by herself with the exception of the top tier.. She wanted the same stripes as on the bottom but I suggested the polka dots to change it up and she agreed. I don't know how I feel about this cake.. I don't think I like it very much. :( I like my shoe though! The customer e-mailed me a picture of a black Monolo Blahnik shoe with blue feather accents (like on Carrie wore in Sex & The City) and requested it in silver with pink feathers. I'm going to upload pics of different angles of the shoe. The bottom tier is fudge cake filled with strawberry buttercream and fresh strawberries, the top tier is french vanilla cake filled with strawberry buttercream and fresh strawberries. Everything is iced in vanilla BC and MMF. The shoe is gumpaste. This is my 2nd shoe. :) TFL!

This didn't turn out as good as my last Mario cake but I had NO time and no space on the little 6". Oh well. Fudge cake with fudge filling and caramel buttercream. TFL!
So my Aunt's birthday was last week and she wanted to celebrate today at the same time as Easter so I mixed the 2 cakes together. The "L" is for Lynn which is her name, the "Happy Birthday" is obviously for her, and the "Happy Easter" & bunny is for Easter of course. The flavor of the cake was also done for my Aunt as it was "Caramel Machiatto", her favorite Starbucks coffee. Espresso cake with a caramel filling and caramel buttercream. Everything is MMF! This is my first time doing a quilt pattern and I'm not thrilled with the turn out but that's ok. I did like 7 cakes in the past 10 days or something which I am not used to doing so I was SOOO wiped out last night, I just didn't care that it didn't look perfect. lol! Thank you to whoever uploaded the little bunny yesterday, he was my inspiration for my bunny. :)
This cake was for twin boys turning 4 and one of them loves Mario, one loves Bowser. I found pics on the internet, sized them to how I want (Bowser was only about 3 1/4" tall) and then traced them onto parchament paper. I then cut out every body part of the pictures and cut them all out of proper colored fondants, then pieced them together/layered them to create Bowser and Mario. It was sooooo time consuming, not really hard but it took forever! THe scenery around the sides, I freehand cut out of colored fondants. Absolutely everything was then outlined in black gel color/vanilla with a thin liner paintbrush. I wanted to use a food color marker but it wasn't dark like I wanted, nor thin enough for fine details. I was happy with the outcome of this cake! For some reason I didn't take a pic of the banners saying the boy's names in front of the characters. :/ Oh and the writing above Mario is how the lives look in Mario 3, so I gave them each 4 lives since they turned 4. I think the customer put some toys on top too at the party but I'm not sure. French vanilla cake with chocolate buttercream and all MMF. TFL!
Thank you to beccachris for the idea to do the writing with the mic cord! I had free reign on this cake. It's for a little girl's birthday, she is a music fanatic and takes singing lessons. Her Mum asked me to incorporate music/singing and to use neon colors. She wanted 2 tiers and that was what I had to work with. I was weary about the design I came up with and after finishing the cake this morning, I felt unsure about whether or not I liked the finished product. She is picking it up in a couple hours and I'm nervous she won't like it. The bottom tier is WASC, the top is fudge cake. Everything is MMF. TFL! :)
Well, today is my 2 year cake anniversary! The first cake I EVER did was my daughter's 1st birthday cake and this is her 3rd birthday cake. I was so happy with it! Thank you to libs for her Sleeping Beauty cake as well the others on here! Everything edible except the stupid bed posts. I brainstormed for weeks trying to come up with a way to make them edible but caved and used dowels. I didn't use any molds for anything and my daughter was THRILLED! TFL!
I was so excited when I finished this today!! I love my leprechaun. LOL! Lemon poppyseed cake with coconut cream filling. Everything is MMF except the leprechaun. He is gum paste. The pot of gold is a cake ball covered in gum paste, then brushed with piping gel to make it shiny. The grass is buttercream. :) Oh, also I was inspired for the leprechaun by one made by diane706, so many thanks to her!! TFL!
Customer sent me a pic of a cake she liked (I'm proud to say mine is just about identical with a couple changes made per customer's request) but I don't know where she got it. Thanks to the artist if they are on the site though! Vanilla bean cake with creamy lemon curd filling. All MMF, even the angel which was a chocolate mold that I put MMF in. TFL!

My Mum was in Disney before Christmas last year and had some DisneyWorld yule log cake while there. She came home and wanted to make it for Christmas Eve dinner so we made one together! It was weight watchers recipes for the cake/filling and ganache for the "bark". We baked it together, I made the holly etc and my Mum frosted the log with the ganache. :) TFL!
First off, thank you x1million to CakeMommyTX for making her beautiful cake!!! I am SO pumped about this cake! This is my first ever baby shower order and I was so excited to do it. I fell in love with CakeMommyTX's cake as soon as I saw it and made a few changes to suit the customer. It was a surprise for MTB and matches the crib bedding that she bought. I will post a photo of the bedding as well. The gerbil in the bath and name on the towel are there because the MTB nicknamed her unborn baby "gerbil" and the customer thoguht it would be a cute addition. The frog and snail are from the bedding. I had a lot of fun doing this cake and loved the outcome! The customer was thrilled. Fudge cake with peanut butter mousse filling. All MMF and the bathtub is RKT. TFL!!!
Everything is gumpaste, tool box and tools. They are all on skewers. :) I was really proud of this because I was asked by my friend to do her son's birthday cake the NIGHT before the party! I stayed up late molding all these (and the tool box) then painted everything the next day and threw a cake together. I'm not proud of the cake.. LOL, thank you to other Handy Manny cakes for inspiration. Even though I am unhappy with the cake, good gumpaste figures came from it all. TFL!
