Wedgwood?
Well, that's the look I was going for. My first time using my Cricut Cake. This was for my sister-in-law's birthday. Carrot cake with cream cheese frosting, covered in fondant. A bunch of Duff roses on top. You can see how thick I ended up rolling the fondant to get the best results with the Cricut. Definitely a learning curve with this, but keep trying and you'll be really happy with it. Make sure there's enough shortening on the mat. Freezing it for a couple of minutes AFTER you cut it and peel away the excess will help you handle the cutouts. At least that was my experience.

"new Life" Cake
I made this cake for the party my sister threw today to celebrate her triumph over breast cancer. It is exactly one year since we sat down with her surgeon to discuss the plan of action, and after a year of surgeries and infusions, butterflies seemed like the perfect symbol of rebirth and renewal for the occasion. 12" tier is chocolate cake filled with chocolate ganache, raspberry filling and fresh raspberries. 9" tier is butter cake filled with chocolate hazelnut buttercream. I used Fondariffic to cover it. What a dream it is to work with!!!

Sailboat Cake
This was made for the 90th birthday of a man who made and sailed boats. The sail was made by his daughter. Boat is made of RKT covered in fondant. Cake is covered with blue BC and blue piping gel. It made for a nice effect. Lesson learned: the piping gel WILL make the color from the fondant bleed. The underside of the boat looked like a bloody mess, and the buoys looked like they were melting into the water.

Chicken Wedding Cake
Here is a picture of the finished wedding cake I made for my son and his new bride. She is a children's book illustrator who goes by the nickname Chicken Girl, and she wanted a chicken wedding cake. It's made up of 3 different 9x13 cakes -- 2 on the bottom, 1 on the top. If you look at the additional pictures, you'll see her illustration that I based the cake on. The actual ceremony took place on a beach in St. Thomas (hence the "sand" on the top of the cake).

Chickens In Love
These were my "test" chickens for a wedding cake I'm making for my son and his fiancee, who is a children's book illustrator and is very fond of chickens. The wedding cake will be based on one of her illustrations, and 2 chickens will sit on top. This is my first time working with fondant. I used MMF and found it very easy to work with. P.S. - If anyone knows her, this is a big surprise - shhhhh!
