I made this cake for the party my sister threw today to celebrate her triumph over breast cancer. It is exactly one year since we sat down with her surgeon to discuss the plan of action, and after a year of surgeries and infusions, butterflies seemed like the perfect symbol of rebirth and renewal for the occasion. 12" tier is chocolate cake filled with chocolate ganache, raspberry filling and fresh raspberries. 9" tier is butter cake filled with chocolate hazelnut buttercream. I used Fondariffic to cover it. What a dream it is to work with!!!
