Vegas Cake
This was for a Vegas themed 16th birthday party. I was given a photo of what the girl wanted & tweaked it a bit keeping the major elements the same. Poker chips and dice are made from gumpaste. Coins are foil wrapped chocolates & the cards are real. The Vegas Welcome sign on the middle cake was printed on regular paper & mounted on fondant then adhered to cake. Cards are real playing cards, however, the "grease" from the buttercream started to seep under the lamination... had I been given more time I would have ordered edible images instead, but I was given the final design 6 days before it was needed. Live & learn, right?

A Time To Remember
A customer requested a replica of her antique clock for her jeweler friend. Apparently, he was the only one willing to repair it for her & she wanted to thank him with a b-day cake. The Bible is a standard request from this customer. The rest of the cake is a bit plain, but it was for a man & flowers didn't seem quite appropriate...any ideas on what else I could have added?

Rudolph Rescues Santa
I was asked to make a cake for my friend's work Christmas party. She works for The Bicycle Shop. She wanted Santa, his reindeer or an elf riding a bicycle. Since I was unable to make a bike (modeled after store logo) strong enough to hold any weight without it looking too large, here's the story I came up with. Santa was biking through Central PA when he got so tired from carrying his heavy sack that he had to take a break. Rudolph came by just in time to give Santa a much needed pick-me-up. TFL!

We Are...penn State
I was asked to make a cake for a 16 year old's b-day party. She is a huge Penn State fan & the mom wanted a mini JoPa & Nittany Lion "and maybe a football & goal post & paw prints, & We Are Penn State..." Well, this is what I came up with. My firt time making a "person" - hard work, but fun! TFL!

The Pumpkin Patch
Another cake for a Benefit Auction. This scarecrow is inspired by one I saw here on CC. I had four cakes & 1 basket of cookies to get done & I realized later that I forgot to add leaves to the pumpkin patch - oh well, at least I got it done! The scarecrow ended up sinking b/c it was so heavy - any tips on how to improve that are welcome!

A Bucket Full Of Leaves
This was my first attempt at working with candy clay & color spray. Made for a local auction benfitting The American Cancer Society. 8" white cake with chocolate ganache filling & chocolate buttercream frosting. Bucket made of chocolate candy clay & leaves made of gumpaste. I used the chocolate buttercream to "glue" the leaves together, but next time I'll be more careful that it doesn't show. TFL!
