Sophisticated fall wedding, ivory fondant, teal and burgundy stripes, grey and white piping, edible icing mums
This was made to my Japanese daughter, Miki's specifications... loosely based on a pink cake box design
This was designed by the bride and groom... every thing to their specifications.. they provided us color pictures of their tattoos and where they wanted them on the cake, the colors etc. We were really nervous making it, but they LOVED IT! Covered in fondant... the tattoos were drawn on edible images and cut out, then turned over and iced in white BC very carefully and quickly, then frozen. While frozen they are easier to handle, and a few dots of DC helps them stick... colors won't bleed.
Xbox And Controller
This was actually for a birthday but gamer groom is a better title, I think! All buttercream, done for a grocery store. grrrr.
Path To Fall
Cut circles out of chocolate fondant using cutters, and Airbrushed them black. cut circles in half for the borders... It's not a quick cake to do, but it's easy! Fresh flowers...
Dress Inspired Details
The bride gave us a close up photo of her dress and the appliqués she wanted replicated for the cake... when I went searching online, I found one better than this by Ron Ben Israel in NY... but it was one of my personal bests.
BC iced paisleys offset a bit for they wanted the topper on the bottom layer, not the top... ivory drapes and gumpaste flowers (purchased) and accented with some lavender dust and some salmon centers on the smaller flowers.... It was the center of a set of three cakes... three tiers in the center and a two tier on either side... this was still in the fridge when I snapped the picture....
Navy Loopy Bows
All white offset fondant covered squares, with a fondant ribbon border and bows edged in Royal blue royal icing snail's trail and polka dots...
Lots And Lots Of Drapes
It's a hex then a round then a hex.... and it's no that easy to do as many drapes as they wanted and still show it's a hex and a round and hex! White BC and ivory drapes, silk flowers
Brown Package 4 Tiers
Iced in buttercream with a fondant rope bottom border and fondant ribbons for the ribbons and bow.... Had to assemble completely on site as it was almost an hour over mountains to get there!!
Unfinished Tree Cake
Still needed bride and groom, but FRAGILE doesn't even begin to describe the fear of putting a bride on a functional swing!
Brown And Silver Ribbon
fondant ribbon-- Inspired by an invitation from a catalog, silk flowers added when we forgot the cake topper.
Yup, that's real goldfish in there.... It sure got the attention at the bridal fair.... Peach and white and gumpaste shells, by Lorraine at The Cake Pros. Sugarveil netting actually worked, but gets soft in any humidity. =(
Blue Package, Topsy, Best One Yet
One of the last cakes I made for the bridal fair, started out with a theme of Mardi Gras, and ended up with this Blue and silver one.... But it's my favorite of them all!
So Much Fun We Did It Again
The pic of the real cake was blurry... this was the display one we made for the bridal fair. The Cake Pro, Lorraine made this one!
Christmas Around The Globe
Ball pan on a 14 inch round.... made for a party for a ton of exchange students... loosely done, there are stars on the areas where the kids are from and a heart for where their American families all are.... of course, Santa and the elves on the North Pole. The countries for the kids are listed around the edge of the cake.
I quill in life, so I thought I could quill on a cake... but I went into it with NO PLAN. It needs to be re-done, I'm so NOT happy with it....
Fall Wedding, Pumpkins And Gourds
Fall cake with Rice Krispy pumpkins and gourds.... fake butterflies, fondant leaves, embossed fondant ribbon
Fondant covered, silk flowers for a bridal show display cake sponged on gold on every other tier... makes a lovely fall cake! Nice plateau too! By Lorraine at The Cake Pros
Fondant covered cake. First attempt at sugarveil for writing... traced a computer printed page of writing, then attempted to put it on the cake... airbrused it, dusted it... applied it, and slowly all the words are falling off due to humidity, we think.... Nice while it lasts! multi color ribbon and piping gel border.
