Humidity is NOT our friend! Man what a nightmare time I had with the lid and tissue paper in the insane humidity yesterday. Finally pulled it all together at the last minute, litteraly! Fondant/gumpaste/pastillage shoe. I really wanted to keep this shoe instead of letting it go to the customer! TFL!

Stacked a bunch of rounds and carved them instead of using wondermold. I was much happier doing it that way although next time I'm make the top part of her dress less full. Fondant and RI accents. TFL!
Made to look like the sound board for a local college radio station. Took 3x's as long as I expected mostly due to all those TEENY TINY LITTLE squares that needed to be cut. UGH! Covered in fondant, all fondant accents. TFL!
MAN I learned alot of hard lessons on this one! My first doll cake, I used the wondermold but I wont next time, I'll just sculpt some rounds. Fondant/gumpaste accents. My daughter is young enough to not notice the flaws so she was happy!!

This was half of the wedding cake board. The entire scene complete was the grooms car sitting on sand looking out to the island with the rainbow & pot of gold sitting in a "sea" that was a circuot board. ( The groom was one of the people to develop to original circuit board back in the 80's. ) Rice crispie island with brown sugar sand, gumpaste palm trees, fondant rainbow. Cake board covered in fondant to resemble circuit. Car pic to come. TFL!

The tie dye was easier than I was expecting it be and I really got the hang of it when I was finished! Flag on top with peace symbol of dragee stars. Customer wanted the cake to make the invitations. Other than my flag falling off my skewer flag pole, it turned out ok. TFL!
I cant remember who's cake I found the inspiration from here on CC, but who's ever it is, THANK YOU! Fondant/gumpast accents with white chocolate feet and blocks. The scroll design came right off the invitations as well as the colors. TFL!

This was part of a collage of cakes I was making for a surprise 40th. The birthday girl learned of the party the day before, freaked out, cancelled the party and here I am with the cakes!! My own fault for not getting a signed contract. I donated to a local nicer restaurant so maybe it will serve as good PR! Sculpted pound cake, all fondant accents. Patent leather look was done with piping gel.

It took the customer a few minutes to convince me that her call wasn't a prank and that the name of the bird she wanted made into a cake was real and not a joke!
