Gumpaste/fondant accents. This was a lesson in futility for certain. I had been so busy in the few weeks prior to this cake that I fell behind with my paperwork and didnt notice that this woman never sent in her deposit. I made the cake, sent my husband on the delivery 1 1/2 hours away after the woman sent me all the delivery info, phone #'s details she wanted, etc. At the del. locale, she cursed him out and told him to get lost. Cake wound up at my neighbor's workplace so it didnt go to total waste.

The top yellow hat tier is all carved pound cake, middle tier has stills drawn on from the Curious George movie and the bottom tier is supposed to look like the bedroom that he helps "paint" from the movie also. Fondant/gumpaste paint cans & Gerorge. TFL!

The flying butterflies and dragonflies are not edible but the butterflies attached to the cake and black roses on top are made from 50/50 gumpaste/fondant. Bridal shower cake for a goth chick. I had to make the bottom tier unangled because they used pieces of cake as favors and had to fit into a short box. Rats. TFL!
I simply couldnt resist getting the Hello Cupcake! book and trying out the cover cupcakes! Took WAY longer than I expected and I got really good at them by the time I hit cupcake # 55. ( I made 58 for my daughters summer program at school). TFL!

The base is from a real lamp that I removed some hardwear from. The lampshade is made from 14,12,9 inch rounds carved to right shape, covred in fondant. I handpainted the fondant to look like stained glass and outlined the pieces in black BD ( should have used royal.) . Thanks for Looking!

I seriously hope that I dont offend anyone with this picture. I'm very pleased with the way it came out and I want to share it with you guys, but it looks rather realistic and I hope that's not a problem for anyone. A graduation cake for a heart surgeon. Red velvet ( what else ) covered in fondant with a fondant heart model. She wanted the color difference in the heart as apparently the aorta hold special significance ( I have noooo idea... ). I gave the customer a scapel and clamp to add on site. TFL!

This was for the NJ Law Enforcement Recognition Awards banquet.. Each officer being honored was represented on the cake with an EI image of his dept. patch and his name underneath. I ran out of time and had to change alot of the design elements but they liked it. TFL!
