Northwest Sunset

The bride and groom wanted something that reflected the northwest, meaning fir trees and a beautiful sunset. They were thinking about a green triangle to pass off for the firs. I couldn't bring myself to do that so I went 3D. They were more than pleased!

The original was nicer because they even had the dots on the cake board. But it was a hectic time for me so there was no time to do that. But it was a really fun cake to make. High School Graduation Cake

I graduated from nursing school about two weeks ago, and was in charge of all the desserts for the reception of out pinning ceremony. In that same week, I had three other cakes to make as well as making the well over 300 cookies for our pinning ceremony. This is one of the cakes. The topper is the school mascott. Everything is fondant, gumpaste and candy melts!

Someone who knows someone who knows me called from many states away to order a cake for her friend who was lives in the Philipines but just came to Oregon to have her baby. Her mom picked up the cake so I never met the mom to be. The bassinet top is made from pastillage.
