I Have Entered The Cookie World - And Love It!
Well at least the floral cookies. I love the way they look when arranged into a bouquet! I used shortbread because I love the taste of shortbread and I never have a problem with spreading. Just a confectioner's glaze of various consistencies for the outline, filling and center, and gold dragees for the "center of the center"

Topsy Turvy Wedding Cake
Topsy turvy wedding cake delivered yesterday. All the flowers are gum paste. It was a different experience delivering this cake because where I live, people are not really used to seeing more "advanced" cakes. So I heard several people whispering as I went by that the cake is "totally lopsided" and "that would not work for my wedding!" I just kept thinking how sorry I am for them that they don't know an outstanding cake when they see one!!!! Their just used to plain old traditional shapes! BUT... the bride and groom loved it!!! As people came in they would take them to the cake table to show them their cake! The groom couldn't stop saying "It's a topsy turvy cake!" They thought they had the coolest cake! I think so too.

Shipped Birthday Cake
This cake in itself is not all that outstanding... what is unique about it is that is was shipped from Portland to Indiana and it got there not only in one piece, but still looking like this!. It was a marbled cake, filled with dulce de leche, covered in fondant, trimmed with a fondant border and stenciled pattern on top with RI. She had no idea I was sending this cake to her. On her birthday, she jokingly said to me on facebook that she was waiting for the fedex man to bring her a cake from me, not knowing that by noon that day, the USPS man would show up with a cake from me!!! It was a wonderful surprise for her!

Starry World Wedding Cake
This cake is a very unique cake, but lovely at the same time. It is also very special to me because the couple came to me with their picture after they had gone to one of the top wedding cake places here and they couldn't make it. Adding insult to injury, they told her that the cake looked "ridiculous"! How professional! I think they were trying to get her to change her mind into choosing one of the boring cakes they can make! So they came to crossing their fingers!!!!! I use my cricut to cut out a stencil of the stars and went to town with gold petal dust! It was a very rewarding cake to make. Top half of globe is cake, bottom, styrofoam. Also used the cricut to cut out the continents. The bride loved it so much, it is now her facebook profile picture!
