First Time Doing A Topsy Turvy
Made this for a dear friend who is battling Non-Hodgkins lymphoma and was leaving for Texas for 2 months to get treatment. I was given full reign on the cake and decided to stretch myself. The top is 6-8-8 since I don't have a 7" pan and teh bottom is 8-9-10. I didn't take the icing into consideration when I cut outthe circle on the bottom tier for the top to fit into so it pushed the side out a little. I refrigerated it over night and delivered it the next day without any problem. If you clicked on this picture to see it, would you do me a favor and say a prayer for my friend Sherrie. Thanks for looking!!

Cupcake Bouquet
This was a cupcake bouquet that I made on a whim for a dear friend that has just been diagnosed with lymphoma. She had just come home from the hospital and she is one of my tried and true cake testers so I surprised her with these. I put a styrofoam half circle in the bucket and used 2 toothpicks per cupcake. I just put tissue in between as filler. She loved it!!!

Wedding Shower/going Away Cake
This cake was for a wedding shower/going away cake. The wedding colors were black and hot pink and the sister of the bride had seen a cake similar to this that I did and wanted it for the shower. Buttercream icing with fondant circles and balls on the end of curled wire.

Abby Cadabby
This was for a 2 year old's birthday. Mom wanted a big abby cadabby and that's what she got! The poms were 8" cakes and the face was carved out of an 11x15 cake. It was all 1 layer cake. For the poms, I used a grass tip and put both pink and purple icing and then gently swirled to get abby's pink/purple hair. Mom was very pleased with how it turned out!

Birthday Cake
This was a combo birthday cake/mother's day cake. I can't do wilton roses so this was my first time trying Duff roses and they were pretty easy to do! This was also my first time doing basketweave (with the exception of the wilton course) so I was glad to have the opportunity to do it.

Minnie Mouse With Crown
This was for a friend's 21st birthday. She had seen my Minnie Mouse cake and wanted a tiara instead of a bow. The tiara is royal icing. I didn't like how the ribbon turned out b/c it was satin so the black showed thru. Didn't think about putting something on the back of it to prevent that. I've learned though!!

Baby Rattle
This was for baby shower cake. I was planning to put an end on the rattle, but the bottom cake was 10" square and I just didn't have the room. I was a little nervous because, as you can see the rattle slowly sunk into the cake. I don't think it was enough for anyone else to notice but it bugged me. It was sitting on a small cardboard round but I didn't put the supports far enough out to prevent the edges from sinking. Live and learn!

Princess Pillow
This was my first attempt at a pillow cake. I would have liked to have carved more of the bottom away, but I was nervous with transportation. I made a RI crown for the top but didn't take a picture of it on top of the cake b/c I didn't want to touch the crown any more than I had to. Unfortunately, the mom broke the tiara before the party so I didn't get a picture with it on the cake. Overall I was very pleased with how it turned out.
