My 10 year old niece wanted an iPhone for her birthday. Her dad said "NO", so I made her an iPhone cake. She got a kick out of it!!
White chocolate cake and butter cream icing with fondant and gum paste accents. Everything on the cake worked fine except for the "40". I cut the wires too short so the "40" kept sinking behind the flowers. I fiddled with the poor thing so much it started to crack and break apart. Once I got the cake to my friend's party I pushed the two front flowers down into the cake and stuck some gum paste curls under the "40" which lifted it about an inch. It looked much better at that point, but then the batteries in my camera gave out so I couldn't get a picture of the final product. Grrrrrr.

This cake was supposed to be a giant cupcake, but I think it looks more like a giant bowl of mashed potatoes. :-)
Cupcake wreath for friends 40th birthday. Butter pecan cake with praline butter cream frosting. Leaves are semi-sweet chocolate molded over mint leaves and the berries are chocolate covered blueberries. Got the idea from the book Hello, Cupcake.
