Green Leaves Wedding Cake
Almond white cake with IMBC and Fondarific ivory fondant, gumpaste rose leaves
The Grill Cake
I made this for Father's Day as my dad loves food as much as I do :-) The meats/veggies are all fondant/gumpaste and everything else is buttercream
Class Of 2009
I made this for my H.S. graduation. My school colors are red & white. The decorations are gumpaste. I stayed up til 3 the night before working on it because I'm such a procrastinator and I know I could've done a better job if I try a little harder. :-)
My 17th birthday cake. Purple buttercream (violet + burgundy + royal blue) with white MMF/gumpaste accents... I used wilton pearl dust mixed w/ extract and painted it on the white parts. I made the swags based on the article here @ CC-- amazing! And it totally stuck to the buttercream too! (I used toothpicks on each side of every swag for added support) The cake is slightly domed... my cake pans are inadequate but I just bought some new ones. 17 sparkly white candles on top (:
White cake w/ extender. Buttercream and MMF accents. Cake design based off of the margarita cakes on CC (ByTheSlice made a gorgeous one). Plastic margarita glass is filled with lime jello & has crystal sugar sprinkles "salt" and piping gel on rim. For a 21st birthday. My favorite cake yet. :)
Lime Is The New Black
Based loosely on a design by Sandralita, who cake is much prettier than mine could ever be. I made chocolate MMF and lots of black paste for the flowers & ribbon. The shell border is (gasp!) Betty Crocker. The lime green lettering and white icing is BC and the cake is chocolate. For my sister's BFF's 14th birthday
Really Chocolate Cake
So I used a dark chocolate cake recipe (chocomama) with chocolate buttercream and chocolate ganache (from cheftaz). The decorations are reg. BC, choco. BC rosettes and little chocolate squares (62%!). Anyway, this cake was a chocolate lover's dream and I think it's pretty safe to say that my dad had a VERY happy father's day! :)
My brother made this cake for his class project. He needed a model of his island, and asked me to help him make it out of cake. The mountains are rice krispies, the palm trees are gumpaste, the sand is graham crackers. I did most of the icing and piping since he wasn't very sure of himself. It was really a group effort, and it was a lot of fun! :-)
For my brother's teacher's husband's birthday. FBCT. pre-colored wilton buttercream w/ homemade buttercream. Chocolate cake. It was fun to make, although I forgot to make the FBCT flipped, but quickly realized my mistake when the "G" was backwards! I fixed it though :)
Cornelli Lace And Roses
Inspired by a cake done by sara1596. Buttercream designs with fondant roses. I have never done the cornelli lace before now, so it's a little squished together. Next time I'll remember to spread it out some more. This is my first time making fondant roses, too, and i'm quite proud of myself on those :) Thanks for looking!
NFSC w/ RI (red= burgandy + christmas red + no taste red + a lot of time!) Career Day "thank you" cookies for the middle school; mascot is wolfpack
These were my entry for the Taste of Home cute cookie contest. I love them!! They are cut out by hand, using a wax paper cutout for the outline. I used Wilton's RI recipe, and the NFSC recipe. Honestly, before I made it, I really thought it was impossible for homemade sugar cookies to taste as good as the mix. I was wrong! Best sugar cookies ever!!
My sister's birthday is the day after the 1st day of spring... but she wanted a penguin cake. Go figure! Anyway, I love this cake, and I'm so glad I made it for her! It was kind of a pain to have to assemble it once we got to our grandparent's house, but everything turned out all right in the end (even if one of the towers did fall off after I took the picture!)
My First Wedding Cake
The first wedding cake I ever made for my aunt and uncle! BC roses- a little droopy :( because of humidity with Wilton elegant shimmer dust. Cream Cheese Icing
I used the star shaped pan, which is why Patrick is a little distorted, but my brother still loved him! (And so did I!!)
I used the Dark Chocolate Cake recipe from this site with orange extract, and the Fluffy Buttercream (yum!) also with orange extract. Wilton cake sparkles on top.
