Mile High Minnie
This cake was created using McGreevy Cakes's tutorial. She stands two feet tall, and was created for Icing Smiles. The entire skirt is WASC cake with Lauren Kitchens's buttercream covered in modelling chocolate. The remainder of the cake is modelling chocolate with the head being Styrofoam covered in modelling chocolate.

Puppy Present
Double chocolate fudge cake with mixed berry buttercream filling and chocolate ganache. All decoration is modeling chocolate. This cake was made for a local company celebrating their second year in business. The company is called A Boy and His Dog, and their logo (a silhouette of a boy running with his puppy on a leash) was hand painted on the lid of the cake.

Cake From @#$%
ok this cake gave me trouble from the very start! Nothing went right, and to top it off, this triple digit Texas heat just disintegrated the black fondant....as if black fondant wasn't difficult enough to begin with! AND this was my first time using a stencil. How the heck do you keep from getting the royal underneath the stencil? Uugh! Luckily this was for a friend who was EXTREMELY gracious about the cake! I would have been in tears if this was for a customer!

Sky Princess Birthday
This cake was made for a very special event. A little girl was celebrating her first birthday, and her entire family was gathering to celebrate this huge milestone. Her older brother, Sky, passed away from SIDS before reaching his first birthday, so this was a VERY SPECIAL event. Unfortunately, the cake met a very sad ending. Knowing that the client wanted to travel with the cake from northeast Texas to Northwest Arkansas, I made the cake as structurally sound as possible, but that still didn't help. They got about an hour away and the cake collapsed over to the side. I feel just AWFUL!
