Fire Fighter Groom's Cake
This is my favorite groom's cake ever. The cake is ganached and surrounded by dozens of chocolate strawberries. The fire chief's car on top is a Franklin Mint collectible. The main part is the dalmatian puppy in front of the cake! It's made of chocolate cake and is all buttercream. See other views of this cake, and the bride's cake that went with it, at http://www.cakedalaska.com/Caked_Alaska/Matt_and_Angie.html

Chef Hat With Calzone And Cupcake
This cake was done to match party invitations, and to incorporate the elements of a make-and-bake themed party. The guests were making their own calzones and decorating cupcakes while the calzones baked. The hat is covered in buttercream with fondant dots, and the calzone is fondant-covered cake with fondant pepperoni. The cupcake is, well, it's a cupcake and the fork is a regular plastic one. Fondant placemat.

Easter Vintage Doll Cake
This was supposed to look like a vintage plastic doll. I had a few issues with it, but you can't win 'em all, LOL! Chai Tea Cake recipe from here (yum), fondant, modeling chocolate, and buttercream. The head is a styro ball covered in modeling chocolate and the eyes are plastic, so from the chin upwards is not edible. The rest is. If you want to see in-progress photos, they're at my alter-ego website, www.cakedalaska.com but please come back here to leave comments!
