Made for a boy that recently broke his arm and having a bday. I made Mario have a red (fondant) cast like the bday boy. He LOVED the special detail.

I made this cake a couple of ways. I tested using Monster soda in the batter like the weight watchers use a spice cake with a 12 oz can of diet coke. The cake actually tasted like Monster soda. Then I tried to compact pieces of it into a large baked beans can because the cake was so airy it wouldn't stack without crumbling. Compacting the cake into it made the finished cake (batter) feel and taste pretty much like Playdough and unedible. However, the look of the cake was a "Monster" of a hit with the teens. July 2010

Cub Scouts is celebrating 100 years this year. The 100 was made to look like the pack numbers that are usually seen on every cubscouts sleeve.

I just made my first wedding cake this past weekend. Oct 2009. This is my first attempt at fondant since 2005 in cake class. I can see my imperfections but I don't care. It looks perfect to me! It was a gift for my cousin.
I asked a boy what kind of cake (flavor) I should make, he said taco flavored thinking he was a funny guy. So I made him a "taco" cake, vanilla flavored. It was easy. A circular cake cut in half, didn't even frost the outside because I had added brown to the batter while making it so it gave it a shell texture and color.
A friend loved the book "Three Cups of Tea". This is my spin off for her retirement.
