Cheer!
4"- 8" tiers. I was asked to make a cheerleading themed cake and there really were a whole lot of ideas out there. I found the little cheerleaders on a digital scrapbooking site and purchased them. They were supposed to be edible images, but all of the bakeries in my area with printers were either out of paper or the printer itself was down. The little girls and the megaphones are laminated and I applied them with buttercream. The pompom effect was achieved with a large grass tip. This one was fun to do, but I hate doing 4" cakes!

Surprise! Elmo
8"- 10" tiers, fondant Elmo, curlicues and handmade confetti. This cake was absolutely the cake from HE!!. I baked the top tier 3 different times because of my husband and 2 year old trying to "help". The first Elmo I made got eaten along with some of the curlicues. I was glad when this one was done. My friend loved it and so did her daughter which is all that mattered really. This picture was taken at the party after I had to fix several casualties from a 2 hour drive and a little kid who put her elbow in the cake. :)

Fall Birthday Cake
This was done for a friend's mother for her birthday. My original design was suppose to look like a basket, but I was having difficulty the modeling chocolate I was using for the basket. I decided instead to color the icing gold. My wonderful mother arranged the flowers on top for me. The platter is a bronze colored charger plate with leaves embossed on it. I thought it turned out very pretty. Would be great as a centerpiece for Thanksgiving.

Pink And Lime Wedding
This cake turned out so much better once I got all the details on it. The naked cake had me crying and so frustrated. The fondant wouldn't cooperate and looked terrible, but I went ahead and did the best I could with it. The end result looked great, especially when it was completely set up at the venue. 6-8-10 squares with dots lime dots on bottom and top tiers and pink scrolls on middle tier. Satin ribbon around each tier.

Colorful Barney
I did this one for a friend's little girl who loves Barney. She sent me a picture of a cake that she found online and this is my version of it. It's a 10" chocolate cake covered in buttercream with fondant bow, curlicues, #2 and confetti. I love the colors! It just makes me smile to see it. I'll even tolerate the Barney and friends on the top. The characters were just printed out on a laser printer and I laminated them, and secured it in the bow as I was assembling it. Thanks for looking!

Shavona's Sweet 16
This cake was made for a girl who loves purple and music. It's an 6"-8" pound cake covered with buttercream and decorated with fondant. The 16 on top is fondant that I dried in my food dehydrator and dusted with a lavender pearl dust. The pictures were printed out on a laser printer and I laminated them to protect them from grease, etc,. The pictures and the numbers were attached using melted white chocolate (lollipop sticks attached to the numbers). This was a fun cake to make and was inspired by another cake I found on CC which I think was originally a Pink Cake Box design. I hope the birthday girl loves it, it's a complete surprise! Thanks for looking

Roo's 1St Birthday
I made this for one of my best friends. Her husband passed away a month ago and their little boy will be a year old on the 30th. I am shipping this cake and the smash cake to Oklahoma from NC. Saying a prayer that it makes it! It's fondant with painted details. to match the "little prince" theme she chose for his party. The crown is freehand cut fondant that I painted silver and outlined with navy blue gel color mixed with a little alcohol. Thanks for looking!

Beach Theme (First Wedding Cake)
6-8-10" 3 layer tiers WASC with buttercream. This was made for one of my son's nurses. She requested an "all butter" buttercream. I convinced her to go with a mostly butter icing, but it was still too soft. I like that it sets up hard when you refrigerate it, but once it's out in the heat it starts drooping. The filling was way too soft and caused bulging. I had to deliver this 45 minutes away and I was praying the whole way that it would make it. I made the fencing out of little craftsticks and 22guage wire. The shells are white chocolate dusted with various colors of luster dust to make them look natural. The sand is organic cane sugar my husband found. They use it at work and it was perfect for sand. The grass is from a bunch of silk grass that I found at hobby lobby and I just cut off what I needed. Thanks for looking!

Finish Line
vanilla cake filled and iced with buttercream, fondant decorations. handpainted checkered flags, boarder is white fondant ribbon and then I placed each little square. I really need a pastry cutter so that I can get an accurate cut. I was disappointed that I wasn't able to get the squares to touch without leaving a gap. Overall, I'm happy with it. I forgot to add the dashed line to the "road" before I took pictures, so I took another picture of the topper after I added the lines.

Pink Princess
white cake with buttercream and fondant accents. Crown and plaque are 50/50 fondant and gumpaste. This was a topsy turvy, but I didn't exaggerate the angles on it. This is the picture that I took at home before delivering it. The little girl's mom is a professional photographer, so I'll get a better picture of it later.

Norah's Dora Cake
This cake was inspired by several Dora cakes on here. This is a 6" and 8" cake, covered in buttercream with fondant decorations. I had made a beautiful #3 topper but it broke in half so Dora and Boots took it's place. The characters were printed on cardstock and laminated, that way the little girl can play with them later. This was my first attempt at making this type of bow. I was really pleased with how it turned out. I still need to work on getting my buttercream from bulging at the top edge.
