3Rd Wedding Cake
Chocolate, White & Marble cake with Baker's BC icing. I love this icing, but it doesn't crust which can be difficult. I did this cake and delivered it in a Minnesota blizzard 80 miles from my home to a casino, then got stranded there with my husband for the night. AAhhhhh!! It was horrifying. But I thought the cake turned out fine. Satin ribbon & silk flowers used.

Dress-Up Girly Cake
This is marble cake with BC. I made this cake for someone through work and she was bringing her daughter to Libby Lu's at the Mall of American and wanted a dress-up theme. My husband came up with the idea of windows all around the cake representing different stores. We incorporated the birthday girl's name in the store names above the windows. I used a princess tiera cookie cutter for the iced cookies. The girls LOVED this cake and it was a huge hit.

'06 Grad Cake
This is a full sheet cake. 1/2 chocolate, 1/2 white and the 6" on top is marble. The whole cake is BC icing and the school logo and "Class of 2006" are royal icing. This was a fun cake to make, thanks to the help of my husband finding the right press board to put it on and a box to deliver it in. And also thanks to all my pals at CakeCentral who answered all of my questions about coloring red, royal icing letters, etc.

Girl Baby Shower Cake
This is marble cake with BC icing. The moon and stars are fondant. I got this idea from this website and changed it a bit. This is the first time I used fondant outside of the Wilton classes I took. I've always be intimitated by fondant, but found it was pretty easy to work with. Although, the shapes were very easy to do (not a lot of manipulation).

1St Wedding Cake
I've been doing cake decorating casually for about a year and finally got to do a real wedding cake. This was for my mom's wedding reception. The bottom and top tiers are chocolate and the middle tier is white cake. Nothing too fancy, and it's kind of simple, but I had a lot of fun with it. No disasters.

3-Tiered Mini Wedding Cakes
26 3-tired mini wedding cakes w/BC icing. The drop flowers are royal. This was my first attempt at anything and I was still in Wilton Course 1. They turned out okay, but it was a lot of work and time (9 1/2 hours) and I had no idea what I was doing. I found these Wilton pans online and I had to use them for my cousin's bridal shower. I won't do this many again unless their is some $$$ involved. LOL

Birthday Cake
This was my first cake I made for someone (3rd cake ever since taking Wilton classes). I ran into a lot of trouble with the baking. My 20-month old daughter ate part of the first cake I made. Then the 2nd cake I made came out too thin since I only used 2 cake mixes (long story). Finally I got it right. I used some of the flowers that I learned in Course 2. The primroses are made from Royal and the rest of the cake is BC. I also used this cake as my Course 2 final.

Wilton Course I
I've been into cake decorating for about 2 months now and so far I love it. This was my Course 1 final cake. It's butter white cake with BC icing. The roses have been very difficult for me to learn--I'm just not getting it! But the day I made this cake, was the best they've turned out for me. I haven't been able to make a rose since. If I finally get my icing stiff enough, it's hard to squeeze from the bag. I have warm hands, so then it gets to thin.
