Twinkle Twinkle
This is a flourless chocolate truffle cake with a chocolate ganache with simple chocolate method stars brushed with gold and silver luster dust, alongside silver dragees. Lining the cake are homemade chocolate truffles. Aesthetically it's rather challenged, standing only an inch and a half tall with slanted sides, but BOY.... I could only eat 1/4 of the cheesecake sized slice I cut for myself before my chocometer blew a whistle. It was FANTASTIC!

Can I Just Say
I will REALLY have to like the person I make these for again. I actually did these a few months ago using a chocolate cake that is rather light, hence there were SO many crumbs! And of course the chocolate color showed through the poured fondant. Next time: WHITE cake! (I also have a FABULOUS white butter cake recipe I wouldn't mind trying these again with) Weird thing was, was that the girls I made them for referred to them as 'brownies'. Hrm.

Unicorn Cake
can I just say... WHAT a pain in the tooter! The unicorn itself is white chocolate morsels melted. I made it three times before succombing to the fact that it would always break in two places; I'll just put some drop flowers on the leg and neck :) The horn is also white chocolate and it's brushed with luster dust. I love the way the grass turned out, but boy did my hand hurt after.. :) Thanks for looking!

Horrible Cake...
so my husband had gotten me these cake decorating books and dvd's and I was SUPER excited. For some reason I HAD to try fondant FIRST (before buttercream...?). I wasn't so upset with it at first, until I made a pretty one. lol. It's HORRIBLE. Lopsided and I didn't roll it out thin at all. My father claimed to like the fondant, and then peeled it off after the second piece he ate. Got to love supportive dads.
