Brownie Wedding Cake
I did this brownie cake for a couple who didn't like cake, but loved brownies. It's three different kinds of brownies, four layers each (I had to bake each layer because as you know chewy brownies don't rise), a 12", 10" and 8" iced in chocolate buttercream. It was one heavy cake but the couple loved it and so did the guests, especially the little ones.

This Started It All For Me ..
I hadn't decorated any cakes for probably 20 years and decided I wanted to make my grandson's 2nd birthday cake. He LOVES animals and when I saw this on the cover of the 2006 Wilton book, I knew I had to make it for him. He and his little friends loved the icing and candy animals, but most weren't too interested in the cake. After this, I knew I wanted to do more cakes and cookies.

First Gum Paste Flowers
This was my first attempt at sugar flowers. I chose an easy one. ;-) I made this cake for a bride and her mother who wanted to see how smooth we could get our buttercream and also wanted something for the groom to taste--he didn't get to be a part of the initial consultation. She just wanted a plain buttercream iced cake, but I couldn't let a cake go out the door without any decoration. The bride loves calla lilies so I hoped that this might encourage them to decide to let me make their wedding cake.
